Hey my fellow Browncoats...I'm looking to see if anyone has made (or has input on making) the lamp from the dining table on Serenity.
I'm a pretty handy DIYer & have a couple of ideas, but would love any input all y'all have.

Thanks in advance!

Stay shiny ~ Eve

We used to have a member who knew where to get all the chairs and things, but I can't remember the name, gorramnit. You might find some threads in the archives. Or, with luck, a set-dec junkie is currently active and will some up with an answer for you.

BTW, you new? Been coated? Muddersmilked?

Mostly it is a bamboo steamer, right ? Like this one:

As I recall, some years ago there was a thread on the Replica Prop Forum, I think. Someone had completed theirs, and it looked good. The BlueSun BoxMart has the steamer for about $15, but of course there are lots of alternative sources for the steamer baskets , so shop around. Look at garage sales and thrift stores for old lamp parts that can be had cheaply and recycled into this worthy endeavor. You may even find a vintage bamboo steamer if you don't have one already...vintage looks better than new most of the time...It will have the patina of usage that will lend authenticity to your project.

I hope this is somewhat helpful.

Thanks for the help, Mike. I was hoping that you'd spot the thread and come through with something. I knew you'd be the best source on FFF.net.
