Wow!!! my first day on the boards and what's the first post I see? Asking for Colorado fans!! I'm up in Woodland Park (northwest of the Springs) and was just a few moments ago lamenting the lack of any Firefly fans in my area that I knew of. Sure thing. The details are still being worked out. I believe that they are talking September 4 right now, at a generous someone's home. I won't let it slip by you. I can probably drive you up, if you need a ride.

Have fun here. It is a great site, made so by all the friendly people on it (and thanks, Haken, for making it all possible!). I would suggest just wandering around the old threads as they catch your eye. Don't be shy on posting if you have something to say, even on a very old thread.

That, of course, would suddenly transform it into a shiny new thread!

Hey...this Browncoat Shindig was supposed to be in Denver right?!? There's 3 people already just in the Springs...or the Springs area...why don't WE just have ourselves a mighty fine shindig?? We can watch everyone's favorite episodes, have drinks and munchies...hell, I'll even offer up my house! We've got a pretty nice, almost flat screen TV...so maybe in addition to the Denver meetup, we can do the Colorado Springs/Woodland Park meetup first?? That'd be shiny!

Huh.

Didn't know we had that many Colorado Springs Browncoats. My television would not be the biggest.

As for get-togethers, I have a preference for NOT Saturdays, as I usually have something going on. Best for me in general would proabably be Fridays or Sundays.

OMG you guys!!! there's so many more of us than first thought...this is awesome!!
I still offer up my house, we have a biggish flat screen tv, a couch that could probably seat 4 comfortably, and plenty of chairs we can move around for everyone else.
If anyone is really seriously interested in doing this, email me at the address I gave above thread...
Oh and I have to remember that THEREALME doesn't generally have Saturdays open...so what's a good day for everyone else? Friday, Sunday? Friday's are a little better for me, since I generally have my son on Saturdays and Sundays...

Er, I hate to point this out but since I've lived in both areas I know that that Colorado Springs is south of Golden, hence you should say down there not up there. Now, I know you are thinking that I'm just picking on you but think of it as a nice hello from someone else in the Denver area and then you won't be upset at this post.

LOL...well, I think of Colorado Springs as 'up there' since I've always seen it as a more uphill-ish then downhill drive from my house, which is admittedly in a bit of a hollow. So most of Colorado falls under 'up there' to me.

I tend not to think in terms of North and South as being up or down since the earth is round, therefore having no true up or down direction-wise. I think of up and down more in an elevation way, you drive up the mountain, or down it. A simple matter of perceptions, and mine are admittedly a bit 'odd'.

Ahoy fellow coloradians

If we are going to put a shindig together someone has to offer up their house. Unfortuently I can not. But at the very least if we can't put together someting. we gotta decide on what theater on Apr 22, hence forth known as the golden day, to meet, wait in line for hours to try and draw some attention, sing songs, fiddle with rainsticks and just have a blast.

Anyone else got any plans?

I'm not currently in Colorado, but was for four years. I lived in both Colorado Springs and Littleton, so you'll forgive if I briefly stick my nose in. In fact, for a time I lived in Littleton and commuted every day to the Springs. It's not that bad - LA commuters spend longer on the road. Well, the point is that Littleton isn't all that far, and y'all in the Springs should consider running up there this weekend. Sounds like FireGuardian has an awesome video set up.
