Avast, everyone! Blimey, mates, this be one helluva day for the likes of us, aye? I celebrate this every bloody year, thanks to my land lubbin' second favorite writer guy, Dave Barry.

Get thee here to this site and find out your pirate name http://www.fidius.org/quiz/pirate.php

Here's mine:

"Black Charity Kidd

Like anyone confronted with the harshness of robbery on the high seas, you can be pessimistic at times. Even though you're not always the traditional swaggering gallant, your steadiness and planning make you a fine, reliable pirate. Arr!"

Your pirate name is:

Black Mary Bonney

Like anyone confronted with the harshness of robbery on the high seas, you can be pessimistic at times. You can be a little bit unpredictable, but a pirate's life is far from full of certainties, so that fits in pretty well. Arr!

A little squidding here, but in the Firefly game i'm running, a pushy passenger insulted the the Captain and his first officer repeatedly by calling them pirates. They got very irate about it, but this was a stuffy governess with her ward, and they were scruffy browncoats, so i kept it up all night...

I was very surprised that they didn't just shoot her, like they did one of the undercover feds (I put everything, including the kitchen sink, into that one- none of the passengers was who they said they were, even the young married couple). Anyway, one of the first things they bought after they downed on Beaumonde was a stuffed parrot and a set of eye-patches!

Argh!

Ooh, we've reached a critical mass - I wonder how many Firefly GM's there ARE out there now? I'm one, too! Got a GREAT captain - and a good crew - and they're about to meet their own "governess" - though she's a noblewoman from Persephone, to be precise.

Ah, Firefly RPG'ing - it's really coming into its own.

Where's your campaign based out of, as it were? Any particular worlds, or mostly just on the fly?

Bloody Morgan Bonney

Every pirate lives for something different. For some, it's the open sea. For others (the masochists), it's the food. For you, it's definitely the fighting. You can be a little bit unpredictable, but a pirate's life is far from full of certainties, so that fits in pretty well. Arr!

Sounds accurate to me.

Your pirate name is:

Dirty Morgan Rackham

You're the pirate everyone else wants to throw in the ocean -- not to get rid of you, you understand; just to get rid of the smell. You have the good fortune of having a good name, since Rackham (pronounced RACKem, not rack-ham) is one of the coolest sounding surnames for a pirate. Arr!

Avast! Heave to. Hoist the mizzenmast and prepare to board! Prize crew to the grapples.

D'ya think it missed my clearly-stated gender?

On the fly, no homeport, like Serenity.

It's been on hiatus for a few months, but we should be flying again this weekend, just got to work on the details-

Independent (Underground Cortex broadcasts, sorta like Eyes-Only) Radio ("The Voice of Freedom in the Galaxy!"), not cannon

Unsanctioned Spacesuit Racing (through the wreckage left over from the War) also not cannon. Modeling a USR Association (Use-rah) on NASCAR.

Also, it's December, 2517, and Pamela, the pilot's sister, an earlier and less messed up inmate of that Academy that River was sent to, is about to celebrate her first Christmas in freedom.

Like the famous Dread Pirate Roberts, you have a keen head for how to make a profit. You have the good fortune of having a good name, since Rackham (pronounced RACKem, not rack-ham) is one of the coolest sounding surnames for a pirate.

...and I shall be the terror of the sevens seas. All ye scurvy dogs best be fearing me! Savvy?
