We all know that it is forbidden to distribute/own/make illeagal copies of movies, games and stuff. But how is it concerning TV-Shows? Is it a violation of Copyrights if you screen-capture it or down/upload it on servers?

It would be my understanding that because it is freely viewed by the public that as long as you are not selling the downloads/tapes/whatever it would be ok. Maybe I'm way off but that's how I see it anyway. Now if you were downloading/making copies of say...The Sopranos then I could see an issue with the fact that you are making available for free what should be paid for because it is a pay channel.

Just my opinion.
