I just watched all the Firefly deleted scenes yesterday...better late than never I guess. I didn't do it sooner because I always expect deleted scenes to either be really short or really pointless.
I was dead gorram wrong about these. I wish they had been kept in, with the exception of the last scene (which was simply a few lines different than the original with Inara and Mal), they were awesome!
Zoe talking about Mal and the war with Simon is very moving, especially when she talks about how they were just left behind while negotiations were made between their allies and enemies.
The River wanting to 'marry' Simon scene would have made me appreciate Our Mrs Reynolds more if it had been left in. It was brilliant! LOL And Mal telling Saffron to grow a friggin' backbone - great stuff.

Ok, I'm done gushing. This thread is pretty pointless because I'm sure it's been talked about already! But I just had to let out my enthusiasm!

Agreed.

I really liked the deleted scenes from Serenity, and wished that they had been kept in the pilot. I think the scenes of the post battle p/u by the Med ships w/ Mal & Zoe would have given more insight into Mal's loss of faith. I also liked the exchange between Zoe & Simon. I think her explaination of the Battle of Serenity Valley would have given viewers some insight into Mal and his personality.

Thanks for posting this. Gave me a reason to go back and check the 'em out. All great, but I especially got a kick out of the 'Our Mrs Reynolds' scene where River asks Book to marry her and Simon.

I have...multiple times.

Firefly has some great extras, the commentaries are really good too.

actually, there is an "extended" version of the goofs that someone posted. those clips have many more funny moments! if you have not seen that, you must hunt it down!
