Mark Brooks .... director: animation sequences (Fruity Oaty Bars segment)

This via IMDb. Also, the following:

Original Music by
Mark Brooks (song "Fruity Oaty Bars")
Carter Burwell

I imagine we'll be seeing a faux product placement, much like "Blue Sun Cola" in "Ariel". Any thoughts, folks? (And yes, while I know IMDb can be wrong, this seems in the vein of the whole Alliance-brand merchandising scheme)

:) I remember seeing an advertisement for "Fruity Oaty Bars" in the graphic collage that was put online (and then later removed)

Tash and I were talking about this "fruity oaty bars" song earlier today. We agreed that it was a likely blue sun commercial as well... I think.
Also we talked about Shohreh Aghdashloo being listed as someone for whom a stunt double was needed, yet she wasn't listed in the regular cast credits. Looked like a potential companion madame type to us.

Hey, 'tash!

I went to that site, then followed it to
www.geoffreymandel.com/samples/ and the JPEG, as listed with the graphic (which funnily cannot be typed on this page without FFFn's stylesheet having a hissy fit). Error 404. So I rooted it and got Mandel's graphic site, which I had visited before (around ComicCon). Thing is, he no longer lists "Serenity" among his credits.

Any scoop as to why the wheels fell off this deal? Does this in fact mean "Fruity Oaty Bars" will not appear in the movie? Does it mean that the graphic is in some way spoilerish (now where did I put that collage) and was removed to preserve secrecy? Why does one of my socks always disappear in the washer/dryer?

So many questions, so little 'tash!

Cluelessly,

zoid

You don't lose a sock in the dryer. You drop it walking to or from the dryer. Hope that helps!

That totally explains it! Gee, thanks again, 'tash!

But, wait... How did my sock get off my foot, past my shoe, and then retie it? (I just got a chill up my spine)

My theory:
Interdimensional wormholes created by the spin cycle, in close proximity to the magnetic fields of the electric motor.

Maybe this explains why Serenity's engine spins.

Or not. I've never found a spacecraft in my washer...

Have you looked really carefully? Because maybe they're really tiny and you throw them out when you clean the lint trap.

Follow that logically, of course, and you'll come to the conclusion that your missing socks are off in some distant part of the universe, spinning in orbit and being settled by little tiny space-ship builders.

Or they might be in the space between the washer and the dryer.

Nope, all wrong.

The socks, see, they mate in the dryer, all that heat and friction sets em off, and like the preyin mantis, one sock eats the other, and in a cataclysmic backwash of energy (and here you just thought the load was unbalanced, when the dryer rocked like that, fools..) it gives birth, to a hanger, which quickly migrates to the nearest closet.

Oh yeah, and that metallic sound when you KNOW there aren't any jeans in there ?
Baby hangers, dude.

This is why you have odd socks and too @#&$&%#! many hangers in the closet.

Okay... This was supposed to be a thread about 'Fruity Oaty Bars'. Now it's a thread about socks? Who's responsible for this hijacking?

Oh, wait... That would be me. Ummm, please disregard this post.

Zoid (yes, I am WAY too serious about this, ignoring the sock discussion and all :) -

There's a lot more on the Geoffrey Mandel images that IS in the movie, so I'd guess that most of it is included. The image in the newscast of a rather unusual-looking individual is confirmed by the teaser (avoiding spoilers here), and the big old logo that looks like an Alliance seal is confirmed in my photos from the set (the logo is on one vehicle as well as the big metal sculpture). And, of course, the name of the planet in the newscast is the same as the one that Jeremy of fireflymovei.com has in his set photos. OH, and the money is the same design as the stuff people have shown photos of - AND the solar system-like thing on the money has shown up elsewhere...

OK, the list goes on....sorry...

I'd guess that the Mandel artwork was for the most part included - so the question is: are Fruity Oaty bars tasty, or not, and where can I buy one?!

Oh, and what about Homer?

Dude, what I wouldn't give for those hangers.

I run the costume shop at my theater company, and our clothes to hanger ratio is way off.

I went totaly balistic at some freshman who threw a hanger away the other day.

So please, re conficure you washers to send the baby hangers to me. I promise they'll have a good home.
