Last week's episode of The Big Bang Theory was both funny and entertaining.

None other than Darth Vader himself, James Earl Jones was the guest star and he delivered big time. Not only that, we got Princess Leia to boot.

HI-larious!

That show gets better each season.

I like the Big Bang Theory. It is one of the few shows that I do catch every now and then.

People seem to be put off by the laugh track, and some I guess feel like it's too mainstream and therefore not authentic/sincere/sensitive about geek culture. To which I say: lighten up, geez.

I love the show. I watch new episodes every week and reruns every night. It never gets old for me. Only other shows I can watch reruns are Seinfeld and The Sopranos.

Can't tell if you're agreeing with me or not. But basically, yes. I don't think the show is taking cheap shots at geeks and nerds, but rather highlighting their intelligence and interests within the framework of an often silly sit-com. "Extraordinary people," as was said.

If you look hard you can see him in "Dr Strangelove", (one of my favs) he's a member of the B-52 crew.

You really don't have to look too hard. He has some memorable lines spoken with that very distinctive voice.

Neither, merely passing on what Chuck Lorre says, but how can we trust the opinion of The Big Bang Theory's creator especially since his name is fake?
Quote:

The reason I changed my name was simple. My mother, never a fan of my father's family, had an unfortunate habit of using Levine as a stinging insult. When displeased with me, she would often shriek, "You know what you are? You're a Levine! A no good, rotten Levine!" So, for as far back as I can remember, every time I heard my last name I would experience acute feelings of low self-esteem. . . .

My first wife was the one who suggested I change my name to remedy the situation. In fact, it was she who came up with the name Lorre, complete with the fancy spelling. I thought it sounded great. Chuck Lorre. Finally a name that did not make me squirm. It didn't occur to me that in England my new name translated into Chuck Truck. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuck_Lorre

Does Chuck's mother remind you of any mother on The Big Bang Theory?

Check Chuck Lorre's Official Vanity Card Archives at www.chucklorre.com/index.php?p=441 or www.chucklorre.com/index.php?p=354 or www.chucklorre.com/index.php?p=366

Yeah, that's my take, these guys are paying homage to the nerds and geeks, especially here in the states. I recently watched a Paley Center special with the TBBT gang and the producers and creators are geeks themselves.

I'm a sci-fi geek me-self............have been since 3rd grade.
