from the F*x website

"So, here we all are. It seems that we are a living embodiment for the show. We are Browncoats, fighting a war we were never meant to win, but fighting none the less. The Fox Alliance has spoken, leaving us to make due with the cards we've been dealt. If you are anything like me, you've been pulling the record tabs off your precious Firefly VHS tapes, pushing along through your life still bitterly fighting the war from within.
I love Firefly. Walking around the cargo bay, the bridge, it's all been terribly painful. It does still live inside me, though. With every "gorram" or "them as can" I throw unknowingly into my daily conversation, or everytime I sit in the Captain's chair that lives in my heart, I smile with the knowledge of what we've accomplished here. We may have been on the losing side, still not convinced it was the wrong one. I can't remember who said that.
If ever you see me on the street, just nod and say, "Captain."
You'll make my day.
Thank you,

Nathan"

Yeah, between his message and Adam's earlier ones, I have to wonder if they're being not so much optimistic because they just aren't, or because they have some inside info that hasn't been released yet. Either way, if they're not hopeful, it's making me want to give up hope too. :(

Dear Nathan, Jewel, and Morena,

Firefly is without question in my mind the best science fiction show on television. It is a show filled with excellent writing, flow, tremendous chemistry between the characters, and most of all heart. In a very true sense it feels more personal, more real than any other show in the visceral feeling it leaves with you after each episode. There is something truly raw, gritty, and honest about Firefly that brings it closer to home. It crosses genres, breaks, fixes, redefines, and then again breaks stereotypes, and truly brings viewers into uncharted waters never before explored in entertainment. In an ironic sense it is everything the original Star Trek should have been but was not.

But most importantly I found Firefly a show with a vision and direction, something truly lacking in most other shows. You should all be proud of yourselves for this truly wonderful and amazing accomplishment, one that I hope will continue in spite of Fox's decision. I salute all of you for a job well done and wish you all the best.

We'll do what we can. Hopefully UPN will listen.
