Had a Firefly party last night. I showed disk one to 3 people. They loved it! We're watching the rest of the series this weekend! Can't wait!

That's 6 die hard fans I've introduced the show to so far. That means at least 6 more ticket sales at the box office!

BADGERSHAT

I just bought the set for my girlfriend. She watched it half-heartedly, more because I asked her to than out of any real interest. And now she's totally hooked, also!

She DID, however, sort of say that it reminded her of "Xena," which she also loved in high school... I'll forgive her for the comparison, since it was made in good intention...

BROWNCOAT1

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Congrats Slowhand & BadgersHat! This is exactly the type of things that more Browncoats need to be doing as often as they can to increase the ranks.

Hopefully your converts will go out there and make converts of their own. If we keep pushing to introduce new people to the DVD set, and then the movie, we should have no trouble getting two more movies from Universal.

DAIKATH

I had one friend who won;'t watch FireFly out of principle after I pretty much talked non-stop about it :).

But now we got a bet, if I can beat him at chess he'll watch all Firefly episodes,,, but if I loose I have to scream that Stargate () is better then Firefly.

But I got me a book on chess which im gonna finish and I'll practise a lot of chess online.

DANYARA

Oddly, I just created my own convert this weekend. A friend sent me the DVDs for my birthday, after I'd been talking about the series and got her to watch one ep when she visited a while back (I'd taped most of them, but one was pre-empted and then put on the same night after the news with no notice, and of course several were never aired in the US). She recently joined NetFlix and rented the DVDs, and this weekend we watched the first DVD "together" over the phone (she's a few hundred miles away, but what fun is watching alone? I'm pretty sure we coined the phrase "phone-watching":).

She didn't want to watch at first, but the ep I showed her (the one with flashbacks to Simon's and River's childhood[s?] - never remember which ep title that is - anyone?), her interest was piqued. She also wasn't crazy about Mal at first, but she's taking my word that he grows on you.

Anyway, I suspect I've added another ticket sale, too....

Of course we know that Mal would never never cheat ( hint hint )

The Journey is the worthier part.
