So, another screening, another fast sell out, and let's be realisitic, another case of me walking up and down the line begging for a ticket. While, it's fantastic that Joss loves his fans so much, am I alone in thinking: Enough with the screenings?

The movie's coming out in September. Make us wait. Generate excitement. The first two screenings were a rare treat, that generated some buzz about the unusual marketing technique. But now another? And with three months before the movie is slated to open, who knows how many more?

I understand the whole notion behind getting the fans excited to spread the word to the non-fans, believe me, I've hyped it up in my circle, but the fans are the one group they shouldn't have to market to this heavily.

Another problem is that with all these people seeing the movie so far in advance, let's say there's something in the movie they don't like. In the past, Joss fans have been extremely vocal in plot points they didn't care for (I.E. Anything in Buffy Season Seven, Spike, Willow and Tara) and I'm already hearing rumblings of certain browncoats that don't care for a few choices in the BDM, and they're actively trying to change these elements.

The movie is going to be flat-out ruined for some people. Or, god forbid, Joss drinks some insane juice and decides to listen.

The screenings are a wonderful gift. I felt honored to have been present at one. I can wait until September to see it again though. We all can. But will the guy who's been to four or five screenings before it's even released?

i am in total agreement with this school of thought. although i am dying to see this movie its true we should wait. there's always the dvds to tide me over and adam baldwins new show is pretty good too. plus it seems the only people that are benefiting now from these screenings are ebay and the scalpers who have found themselves a cashcow.

Well, now, I don't know that I'd go that far... There's a whole lot of folks in the added cities who were entirely too far from any of the previous screenings to see 'em. There are still folks out there (like me and about 15 of my best friends) that will benefit from this latest screening.

I agree. They've expanded it, offered a new list of cities (see any scalpers for Albany? Think that's related it's hitting an upstate NY market that was untouched by any other screenings?), and have a solid blanket of buzz. Not to mention some free press.

But now it's got to be done. I wouldn't even try to go to another screening, because odds are I'd only have to wait another 8-10 weeks to see the movie a lot closer. I've waited 8-10 weeks for things to come in the mail before.

I'm anxious to see Serenity. The final version. In theatres with my friends at college on September 30th. I don't want to see it early anymore, and the novelty has worn off as I realize the hassle. I had 0 chance at getting tickets for Albany, so why even try if there's another screening? It's stress I don't need.

Stop the Signal, Joss. It's time to wait and let the entire world see your creation.

Oh, I agree that this screening needs to be the last one, especially since the trailer is now out on TV. Once this one is past, it's time to start gearing up for the complete movie release.
