Sean's movie, Living 'Til the End, has a theatrical release in Los Angeles on October 21, 2005 at the Music Hall in Beverly Hills. I forgot to ask the director if general audiences are admitted, so I'll email her again and find out. October 21 is a Friday so some of us Browncoats should get together for dinner and go if we can.

I received an email from the director. It is general admission so we can get tickets. I found the theater online. The URL is http://www.laemmle.com/viewtheatre.php?thid=4 The theater doesn't have the Waiting 'Til the End listed on its coming attractions page yet but the page only goes up to September 9 so in the next month or so it should show up.

Closer to the date, maybe in early October everyone who wants to go should make plans to get together and have a mini-mini-shindig, given the traffic and the fact that most people will be coming from work, maybe dinner or happy hour at a local restaurant.

I have the summer off and can scope around for a restaurant that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. There must some within walking range of the theater. I never go to Beverly Hills so I don't know off of the top of my head.

I'll post something again in early October to see who wants to meet.

the movie is not the Series. Only the facts have been changed, to irritate the innocent; the names of the actors and characters remain the same

I'm just curious, since you're in such close contact with the director, do you know what indie studio is distributing the film? I'm just curious, because while SERENITY will definitly be at the Galaxy, LIVING TILL THE END would probably only come to the RPL (one of only two art houses in all of Saskatchewan). And I would like to see the movie and not have to drive all the way to L.A. to see the flick.

Here's hoping it'll be either picked up by The Weinstein Company or Fox Searchlight (which has already cemented it's reputation as the #1 indie company)

And wow! Hey! What's this thing suddenly coming towards me very fast? Very very fast. So big and flat and round, it needs a big wide sounding name like ... ow ... ound ... round ... ground! That's it! That's a good name - ground! I wonder if it will be friends with me?

I don't know the director personally. I emailed her and she quickly responded to my emails. You should email her and ask your question. The URL for the movie is http://www.livingtiltheend.com/home.asp

Sounds good. It's less than a mile away according to mapquest.

Just kidding. Use http://Eds2Sean.notlong.com

If 0.8 miles seems too far, Kate Mantilini's is just a block away. However, Kate's is a fashionable Beverly Hills restaurant, whereas Ed's is a Chicago diner in Beverly Hills.

How expensive is Kate's? I don't want anyone to not come because the restaurant costs too much.

I was surprised not to find a website by them but, if "fashionable Beverly Hills" doesn't say it for you, try this:
Of the first ten sites my search found, one is just a restaurant list, four are reviews, & five talk about the stars seen there.

LIZANNE

There are indeed a lot of resturants around there, also there is the Beverly Center with resturants surrounding it. The walk is a bit longer but it has ample parking. I've been to most of the places near that theater and the one I love the best is The Newsroom. It's reasonably priced and has fantastic healthy food. It doesn't have a website or anything but, it's a nice atmosphere.

You might spot celebrities, the Ivy is across the street. Down the street, one corner boasts both a Starbucks and a Coffee Bean that stars frequent (I've seen Joss Whedon at the Coffee Bean before) but, that's what Beverly Hills is like.

I'm v. excited. I'm hoping a buisness trip to LA coincides with this date so I can be there! I may have to just go anyway!

ZOID

Based on the stills, looks like Sean is finally gonna get off the Whedon-imposed schneid. Combined with Serenity's release on 30 September, this means he might get lucky twice in one month!

He's obviously not married...

Jealously,

zoid

P.S.
Ms. Newman's not hard to look at either.

That's something to consider. If you park @Beverly Center, then go to a movie, you'll pay for parking (I think it's 3 hours free), but it's Beverly Hills -- you pay for parking almost everywhere in that city. Amusingly, there are two free lots just off Rodeo Drive, which is closer to the Music Hall than is the Beverly Center. If you park on a side street near the cinema, you'll still end up paying for parking -- neighbourhood permits, & the private company that writes parking tickets in Beverly Hills is fast.

Some of you seem to be misapprehending my purpose in mentioning star sightings @Kate Mantilini's (my own fault for indulging a penchant for obliquity). Kate's is about three times as expensive as Ed deBevic's, if you don't hit the wine list.

SKYDANCE

I hope it goes without saying, but just to be safe ....

Sean is in this production. We're excited to see him. Sean is friends with Joss & Co. It's not impossible that some of them will be excited for him, too.

If one or two of them happen to be in the area, they might decide to make a night out of it. Let's behave ourselves if suddenly confronted by one of our Big Damn Heroes, okay?

The Newsroom sounds good too. I've never stopped in Beverly Hills so I'm glad for any restaurant suggestions near the theater.

I hope that we run into some of our BDH at the movie. On the couple of occassions when I run into a celebrity, I usually leave them alone, so there's no worry that I will make a fool of myself. I might ask them for their autographs if I don't get them at comicon.

Internet Movie Database says that Sean is unmarried. Nathan Fillion is too. I just finished a relationship with an unmarried thirtysomething male so and I found out that he's scared of commitment which is why he's unmarried. That very recent experience clouds my feelings towards any unmarried male thirtysomething right now, unfortunately.
