Most shiny! I hear it's gonna be filmed in High Def.

I'm very excited about this documentary. Ours is a fledgeling fan community, but we're solid. All based on 13 episodes, 2 comic books, and a movie... Just think what we'll be once we actually have a franchise!

An chance they're covering ALL the different fans?

For some reason it kinda bothers me to think these might be the ONLY type of fans profiled... they sound very.. "typical sci-fi fan" and for some reason, that gives me pause to think they are representing ALL of us.

No offense to them, but part of the phenomenon of Firefly is that we AREN'T all like those that go to Cons and such. I used to go to them, but I am amazed to see that so many "not con-type people" are such BIG fans, and to me, that's a HUGELY important thing.

I've been to a grand total of 1 Con. This year will be my 2nd, and the main purpose of going is because of our BDHs. I guess I would consider myself a "not-con-type person", even though I'll be at DragonCon...again. If that makes any sense.

They are interviewing a wide spectrum of people for the doc. They've gotten fans on Comic-con, Joss, crew from both Firefly and Serenity, etc. So it won't be a one note piece, unless you count that it's all about Firefly/Serenity :)

I'm a member of a Lord of the Rings fanclub (ohioringcouncil.com) and about 22 of us are going to DragonCon this year. Last year there were only a couple of Browncoats in the group (myself included) but in the past year we've passed around our DVDs and recruited over a dozen new Browncoats to the cause.

Most of us will be spending at least part of the DragonCon weekend in Firefly/Serenity costume and of course, we're all going to the Shindig. I've got a Kaylee costume and a generic Companion costume. (I'm really hoping a lot of Conventioneers recognize Kaylee...it will be a way of judging "name recognition" in the sci-fi 'Verse.)

Anyway, it will be great to meet up with other Browncoats at the Shindig (or elsewhere!)

BTW, DragonCon 2004 was the first con I ever attended, and I've only been to one other since then (a really small local one). The BDHs are the main reason I'm going to D*Con 2005. That, and I want to show off the new Elf gown I'm constructing...

See you at DragonCon! :)

Don't sweat it; I've been interviewed, and I've never seen the inside of a convention. (That's what happens when you live in the same state as the crew producing the documentary, I suppose!)

Well, I do feel better... again, no offense to Con-goers, cuz I would go if I could... but man.. here in the NW.. a lot of them are... wow... well, part of the reason I don't go.
