I believe I know why the Necropsy posts by XED have been so inflamatory.

I would belive that most FF fans have not given up the fight. Sure things look bad, but, I want to see more of the TV show that has struck a deeper chord with me than any TV show, ever. To read XED's post requires me to acknowledge that Firefly is, indeed, dead. I can't think about that yet. It hurts too much. Untill we hear it from Joss that there won't be another episode I'm not giving up.

So XED, untill we get news from the man himself, for my sake and I'll risk speaking for SergeantX and other fans, please have some sensitivity. Don't post mortem the show while we are praying for its survival.

This is my favorite show.

They're also very longwinded and critical and it seems to be a lot of people just don't agree.

The responses have also been rather nasty which has added fuel to the fire. I couldn't read them...but glanced and although the posts were thought-provoking, they weren't very tactful.

Since many people here are unhappy with XED's behavior, I have been debating whether or not I should delete/edit his posts. I have the ability to do so, as I do have forum moderator status, I'm just trying to check around what the general concensus is as to editing peoples' free speech. I don't want to edit his opinions, but if there is enough response to my doing so, I will do it.

When I logged on yesterday and saw all these necropsy threads I had what I think is a pretty typical response, "What the hell is this guy posting all this 'Firefly Sucks!' bile on a site called 'Fireflyfan' unless he's just looking for a fight?"

So he got one, but as is the nature with these kind of fights, nobody wins and the board is filled up with verbal carnage. It seems to have passed for the moment, at least until someone who hasn't logged on all weekend finds it all and gets irate, etc.

I've noticed though that XED has started replying to the less inflammatory posts sensibly enough. Seems he likes the show after all. The way I see it, he's prolly just as heart-sick about the show getting cancelled as any of us and had to get all that necropsy go se off his chest so he could move on, which is what he seems to have done. The site has weathered "Firefly must die" we can weather this.

Anyway, that's my two cents.
