Does anyone have anything to add to my list of promising shows killed by Fox? Some may disagree about the degree of promise that some of these shows had, but the fact remains that they never really had a chance, once they signed on with Fox.

Alien Nation - May, 1990
Swamp Thing - May, 1993
The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. - May, 1994
VR.5 - May, 1995
Strange Luck - February, 1996
Kindred the Embraced - May, 1996
Space: Above & Beyond - June, 1996
The Tick (Animated) - November, 1996
Sliders - May, 1997
The Visitor - January, 1998
Brimstone - February, 1999
Millennium - May, 1999
Harsh Realm - May, 2000
FreakyLinks - June, 2001
Lone Gunmen - June, 2001
The Tick (Live Action) - January, 2002
Family Guy - February, 2002
Undeclared - March, 2002
Dark Angel - May, 2002
Greg the Bunny - August, 2002
Firefly - December, 2002
John Doe - April, 2003
Futurama - August, 2003
Wonderfalls - March, 2004
Tru Calling - April, 2005
The Inside - July, 2005

Of course - some true survivors like Firefly and the Family Guy have found ways to rise again.

I'd add The Ben Stiller Show, which ran for 13 eps (I think) way back in the early '90s.

You can't really blame Fox for the demise of Kindred. Mark Frankel, the star, went and got his self horribly killed in a motorcycle accident.
Also it had annoying, boring and anti-sexy C. Thomas Howell so it deserved to die.

That is true (the part about the motorcycle accident). I guess it shouldn't be on the list.

It was also exactly the show I was thinking about when I made the comment about the varying degrees of promise the shows had. ^_^

The Swamp Thing that ended in 93 was the live action series that ran on USA for 3 years and 72 episodes.

The Swamp Thing that ran on Fox was an animated series that ran in 1991 and had only 5 episodes. I have read that these were produced for CBS who then passed on it.

I don't think it belongs on this list.

Sliders, Millennium, and Dark Angel were all on for two or three seasons each, so I don't think they quite belong on this list for your purposes.

Sometimes shows just run their course and end. You're probably looking for shows that were pretty much doomed from the start, simply by virtue of the fact that they were on our very favorite television network.

That said, however, leave Futurama on the list. Now there's a rare example of a (great) show that was still on the air long after it was "killed" by the network, if that makes any sense.

And now that Family Guy is back, that obviously needs to be taken out.

I think Sliders and Millennium do belong on the list - not because they were killed before they had a chance, but because they were pushed into making some dumb choices that ruined the appeal of the show (ie - killing off John Rhys Davies???). As much as I enjoyed first and second season Millennium, it became positively unwatchable after they turned it into a twisted version of the X-Files.

Dark Angel just died too soon...even though it had two seasons, it really hadn't run its full course. Ok, maybe I'm stretching a bit, but I was pretty bitter...

...Ok, AM pretty bitter - but mostly due to Firefly, Wonderfalls, Tru Calling, Brimstone, and the Inside. ^_^

Have you gone through the list of shows cremated by Fox as given by Peter Griffon from the resurrected Family Guy? S4E1. Good basis.

And Dark Angel is my #2 favourite, but I can't blame Fox for it's death.
