I wasn't able to make it to the premier last night - I'll be going (and paying for 4 other people :P ) tonight.

My question is - how was opening night? Crowded? Did we pack the theaters? Am I going to win the bet I have with a coworker that Serenity will be the #1 boxoffice this week :D

Just curious if all the buzz that was create produced actually numbers.

We went to a 7:20 show and the theater was about 3/4 full. Also, as we left, a lot of teen-ager types waiting to go in for the 10 something show recognized our brown coats. Hope it went well in other places too. One of our "newbies" coudn't go, but the other loved it and promised to take two other people this week end. Keep flying y'all.

I brought 7 people and the movie was about half full at 1030 last night. I'm loaning the series to at least one of the people I took because they have never watched an episode. The others didn't even know it was a series and the overall response was WWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWW!
The movie was awesome and word of mouth will surely make it #1.

I was at the 12:30 (noon matinee) but it was in a big college town, and the theater was pretty full!
it wasn't packed (like for HP or LotR or SW) but it was more than half full which is a lot for a Friday matinee...
and it was a very responsive crowd who were totally into it.
I hope that last night the theaters were even more full!

Sweet - now the question is ..... who's going again next weekend?? (Which that's boxoffice is "almost" as important as opening weekend.)

7:30 was the showing to go to here. During the previews, it was about 3/4 full, but folks were stil filing in just before show time. When the movie finally did start, it was near full, I'd say about 90-95%

7:20 showing. Not so full. I think a lot more people were going to the 10:10 showing. I find that oddly strange.

I met some Browncoats (FINALLY), and as I was walking out with my friends....i kind of regret not going to DragonCon.

My bud wanted to pull the 'Snape kills Dumbledore' stunt, but I prevented him. (Some guy ran around screaming that Snape killed Dumbledore the day of the book coming out. Some person yelled in the background,'Nooooo!! you BITCH).
*somewhat spoiler*
He tried to consul me with that Wash was probably a perv and pediphile so he probably deserved it. lol god I love my bud.

hey, good news!

I was slightly disappointed about the numbers for Friday (although we were still beating everyone on the basis of dollars brought in per screen)

I hope today and tomorrow really raise the stakes!

and I hope we build an even bigger audience next week!
