Just had an idea and thought I'd see what everyone else thought. What do you think might happen if Fox airs the final 3 eps, and we blow the Nielsen ratings off the chart? I know it would take a miracle, but if we really push hard to hook our family and friends on videos of the previous episodes and talk it up a lot, who knows? It might make Fox reconsider or at the least make it easier for ME to sell to another network.

There's virtually no chance that the remaining episodes would do substantially better, at least not if they aired in the same timeslot. Particularly since FOX is unlikely to expend much energy promoting a show they've already cancelled.

What I'd like to see, though it isn't going to happen, would be for UPN to buy those three episodes and try them out after BtVS to see how they would do.

Don't forget, Fox still considers the show "on hiatus".

Of course, without some kind of advertising or promotion, it'll be difficult for Firefly's remaining three eps to kick any kind of Nielsen ass. The generation of Firefly hype is, therefore, up to we the fans.

I still maintain, whether www.fireflysupport.com condones it or not (no offense intended Kiba ), that an e-mail campaign to Fox is a good idea as long as it is polite and focuses on the issue of broadcasting the remaining three episodes. It will give us fans something to do and remind Fox that there still exists a 4 million person viewerbase that the network could expand on if they so choose.

Of course, Fox hasn't repeated a single episode of Firefly yet, so the only way I can see to get people caught up in the story line (thus building interest in the unaired episodes) is for us to pass VHS and VCD copies of the show around FAR AND WIDE. Fox truly has left us no choice on the Firefly dubbing matter.

I am a firm believer in the "anything is possible" mantra but also accept that NOTHING worth fighting for is ever accomplished without grass roots activism and a little initial rule bending in the outset. So make Firefly dubs and pass them around, folks.

So...to Fox I say: RELEASE THE FIREFLY THREE!!

And this weekend I'll be having a Firefly mini-marathon with some friends of mine who have never seen the show (or even heard about it). I'm certain they'll love it for Firefly is a fantastic show.

We're having a marathon here in Chicago as well this weekend. Starting Saturday January 18th at 10 a.m. and going til 10 p.m. Email me at jborse@yahoo.com for more info or if you'd like to come. We'll take some pics and post them at: http://www.geocities.com/jborse/firefly .

I'll try to get folks to email Fox during the commercial breaks to ask for the remaining eps to be shown (at the very least).

There's also a group of us here in Chicago that are planning on hosting a Firefly party at a scifi convention next month. ...One thing that strikes me as important to mention to other folks/groups that have also been promoting Firefly recently (either in a formal or informal fashion) keep a list of people's email addresses. Getting folks hooked on Firefly now that its on hiatus won't do much if you don't have a way to contact them once we get word that the remaining episodes will be shown.
