There is still one theater showing it in Tallahassee. I went this afternoon just in case this was my last chance to see it on the silver screen.

Then again, there is always the dollar-theater run a couple of months later.

yeah...

I really liked some of the positive threads of the last few days that got everyone pumped up (particularly the "View from a Suit" I think it was called that 'Tiredoldreaver" started). I was definitely on for being upbeat & doing what I could to get more ticket sales - I've gone 7 times here in L.A., bringing this person, that person & everyone else, too...

Heck... I had two more I was gonna bring this weekend, especially as it was playing The Bridge's IMAX screen f'gawdsake(!!) - believe me that was WAY fun but... very depressing... ithe BDM is now pulled all over L.A., including The Bridge :-(

No more "prints" no more "advertising"... I'm guessing they decided to cull their P&A losses & maximize what revenue they had. Shoot... and I was gonna keep giving them mine until the well dried out. Seven times I saw this movie and I guarantee, each time was better than the previous (bite me, trolls).

I'm really hoping it's not this way in the international markets. Anyone out there not in the U.S who's still able to see it?

Unfortunately, no. I hear it's doing okay in some UK cinemas, but even though it was released on October 7th, yesterday was the last time it was available to see in Nottingham.

Well, I'm from near Toronto and it's not doing so well here either, although we're really not that much different from the US.

They did have it showing in two second-run theatres last week but now it's done and no more Serenity. It's odd though, that they would be pulling it because it's not doing that badly, from what I can see. Every time I went to see it, the theatre was more full than most other movies I have gone to see except the really big movies like LotR.

I'm betting it's that thing i mentioned - pull the prints and advertising to maximize the profitable portion of the revenue. Prints cost a LOT - and so does advertising to alert the General Populace that those prints just happen to be at your Local Cinemagoogle.

it's my guess

...and now that I've put it that way... and had a microsecond to reflect on that point... that almost sounds like "A Good Thing"...

...stop the fiscal cost bleeding and keep as much "good money" as the company can. Like, maybe they're trying to "Protect" something... rather than write it all off as Some Tragic Waste.

Damn... is it possible I can spin them pulling the theaters as a POSitive thing? Damn... I can do ANYthing!!
