What would you do to get Firefly back on the air? Actions speak louder than words.

It would appear that there are plenty of people willing to give up their hard earned cash in hopes of bringing back Firefly to the the small screen. What I am asking is what would you do to bring back Firefly? TV and Movie productions cost money and some of that is manpower. How much cheaper could you produce a film with a crew of unpaid volunteer interns? I have no doubt that almost any one reading this now would give their primary hand to be a extra on Firefly: the next incarnation. Would you be willing to be a production assistant? A gaffer? A grip? A security guard? a driver? a location scout? a still photographer? The list goes on and on. I am certain there are some unions out there that won't allow a film to be made without a payroll and there are some jobs that are best left to the true professionals, but just imagine what we are capable of people. Robert Rodriguez made El Mariachi with less money than it costs to buy a used motorcycle because he was extremely resourceful. His crew was made up entirely of volunteers, but he gave every crew member a part in the movie. He wasted nothing, I mean nothing! Mr Rodriguez the went on to make Desperado for only seven million dollars, it out grossed Die Hard at the box office and Die Hard had almost three times the budget. Maybe Mr Whedon may not be the guerilla filmmaker that Mr Rodriguez is but that doesn't mean that money can't be saved and if you can lower the budget and not the production values then less money needs to be raised.
I know what amazing things can be done when people put their hearts into something. One of my hobbies involves large groups of people working together, giving their all, towards a common goal motivated only by love and pride. The loyal and true will do for free what others won't do for any amount of money. If Firefly is your dream what are you willing to do?

Ask not what Firefly can do for you, but what you can do for Firefly?

You are so right! And it's funny that I was just reading the thread about people who are going to try to film a firefly fan film--just backs up how right you are. There's clearly a lot of people who'd volunteer their time.

What gets me is how many people have good ideas--either with financing by subscription or volunteering--but none seems to take off. WE NEED A LEADER. Someone to get this stuff off the ground. I will continue to be a back berth until then I'm afraid. How sad.

Yes we do need a leader. Someone with the look of eagles. Someone with brains, heart and drive;
a true leader that will be our salvation!

I don't know anybody like that.

I'm betting you don't know anybody like that.

Oh god! Oh god! we're all going to die!

Then again, our leader could walk in any minute now. Weirder things have been known to happen. I guess until our fearless leader shows up we should either look like we're busy or pop round the corner to the pub for a pint.
