Why am I looking at this and just simply knowing that Univsersal plans to release a 2-disc special edition in the US sometime in 2006?

Getting a little sick of every studio releasing every film 3 or 4 times...

Okay.. I have been putting off buying the multi region DVD player (tho I understand you can get instructions from the internet that will allow you to modify your old region 1 player) and thise news may be the final straw that tips me over to getting it....

sheesh this looks very good!!

I don't see why you Aussies get all that extra stuff. Oh well, at least you lost to Wales today (in rugby). That gives me some comfort.

I hope we eventually get those extras too. I'm buying the first run of the DVD, but I'd buy an extra "special edition" too.

Hey I am one of those damn Aussies, and I reckon you should do that, but please don't blame us because Universal Australia likes us. ;) We are having to wait until February for our DVDs after all. I guess they figure they had better sweeten the deal or we will all ignore the Aussie DVD in favour of the US one.

I have actually ordered my US DVD from Amazon, because I don't want to wait until February, but I will also buy the Aussie DVD when it's released too. Then one of my daughters can have the US DVD.

In Australia many DVD players that are not 'multi region' can be forced to play multi region discs. You need to get the code (if there is one available) from the dealer who sold you yours. Then you have to run set-up for your player, to reflect that.

I can't stop thinking about my poor friends back in South Africa. They were really looking forward to the movie, then it didn't get released after all. And now they'll have to wait for the "crappy" edition of the Serenity DVD to come out there some time next year, and knowing SA, it'll be totally overpriced (probably around US$40).

I just hope you Aussies take that into account when our cricket team comes over there soon and go easy on us.

Probably because:

1) We wait until February to get it.

2) We've kept it alive for 64 days straight and counting STILL.

I love you Aussies... keep on supporting the film... I wish I could see it in theater again. They pulled it from every theater around me after only 3 weeks and my only having seen it five times.

It's worth trying to get the Aussie DVD from places like EZYDVD if you don't live in Australia for the Sydney Q&A alone

I was there... one of the best nights ever (seeing as stuff like that happens very little in Aus)

Very funny

I can't wait for February, although I've already ordered the US version

Hmmm...says that other International territories may decide to include the 2nd DVD. Really hope the UK is one of those!

Although all International territories are getting "A Filmmakers Journey: Journey with Joss from Script to Screen", so at least I'll have something over the US fans! And hopefully nicer box art too..

I believe we should tell the DVD Cover makers:

"If you can't do something smart, do something right" ;)

If it needs all the blether like reviews, overhyped plot points, etc, at least make it NOT burn retinas guys!
