Thought since Joss was an official fan, this thread on this site might not be too cheeky. Finished watching Season One not long ago, and wow. Brilliant, funny, heartbreaking.

Ironically when I saw the ads for VM I swore I'd never watch some annoying pretty chick running around pretending to be a P.I. Yes, well.

Here's mine:

1) After Lynn Echolls' funeral, Logan and Aaron are discussing Trina. Logan quotes her telegram which is along the lines of: Devastated. Stop. Can't make funeral. Stop. Entire crew said prayer for Mom. Stop. Turns to leave. Aaron says his name and Logan says "Stop?". The way this line is delivered - a mixture of a command and a question with a hint of a boy's life falling apart...

2) Veronica's effort at teen poetry called "I Cut Because I Can". Almost wet myself laughing.

3) The first Logan/Veronica kiss. Was completely unspoiled. Breathing was difficult for a while after that.

Any other suggestions?

I love the scene in the finale where Veronica finds out that her dad is definatly her dad. I think I cried the first time I saw it, I was just so relieved for them!

"We will rule over all this land, and we will call it... 'This Land'."

Yeah, loved that too.

Thought of some more:

- Lily with her head outside the limo, hair streaming behind her, saying "You love me, don't you?"

- Logan to Kennedy: "Can Dick and Beaver come out and play?". Did they really spend all that time just setting that line up?

- When Veronica tells Logan that she found out about him and Kennedy, emphasising that it was for a case, he says "So you're going to storm out of here in a burst of professionalism?".

- Veronica telling her Dad about the first day back at school, making up some awful things she did. He asks about sex. Veronica: "Yeah. But don't worry, Dad. I swear you're going to love these guys."

Clever, clever people.

I could go on forever. And probably will. Be warned.

I have also recently finished watching the first season, and wow. What a great show. I agree with all the ones you've said so far, and suggest two more:

Duncan's breakdown after he sees Logan and Veronica together. Powerful stuff, and really brings home how he still feels about Veronica.

When Veronica confronts Duncan about being raped at the party, and he reveals that he's still totally in love with her, even though he thinks she's his sister. The way he just screams it out was powerful.

"Well, then, I believe perhaps that I am, in fact, completely screwed."

Not that I'm obsessed (

), but I thought of some more:

- Vince's 'Veronica Mars - I'm Watching You' song out the window with accompanying bum dance.

- Veronica saying "We used to be friends - a long time ago" just before the theme song kicks in. Gotta love a show that can't resist a stunt like that.

- Veronica's mom (and I misquote): "I guess there's still dances and birthdays..." Veronica: "No. There's really not."

Any thoughts on season two so far? I suspect that for me season one might always be far and away the best, but due to the nature of the show, I'm not sure that could be avoided. Season two's definitely edgier and in some ways even smarter, but I miss some of the sweetness and poignancy of the first. Hmmm...

Bloody stupid six week Christmas break.
