Hey everybody,

My friends an i would like to start a Firefly RPG playing as the crew of an Alliance Patrol boat. The only issue with playing as the alliance is that Firefly and Serenity never really shed light on the reutines of Alliance crews.

If anyone has any idea on a relatively interesting plot or ideas for just about anything on how the Alliance works than that would be appriciated.

I figure you know this considering your plans, but the Alliance isn't actually bad. (Strictly speaking.)

They are not the bad guys, if they were our heroes, in spite of being of the big damn variety, would be dead or captured depending on which Alliance member was a bad guy.

Sheperd Book tends to shed a little light on the Alliance tactics in some episodes, im a might fuzzy on his exact words, but he talks about how they work.
In Serenity for sure Sheperd talks about how the Alliance works when an operative is involved "they'll come at you sideways, hit you where your weak" etc...
Hope this helps a little. Other than that i guess they would work the same way as our current military. Ground forces for anti air, Air Force for ground forces and infrastructure, and then full-scale ground assualt to clean out the rest.

"We have done the impossible that makes us mighty" Mal

Siklis Pakem Parabellum "If you want peace prepare for war" (Latin)

"Day is a vestigial mode of time measurement based solar cycles, its not applicable, I didnt get you anything."

Yeh the Alliance are very much like the Empire in Star Wars. Everything is regimented and very military. They use very standard military tactics. Look at german Blitzkreig tactics from WW2 and you will probably get a good idea

Since you aren't looking to be at war, or to be an operative we know just about nothing. What we can say is that there are propably strict standard operating procedures to be followed, and what happened in The Train Job implies that everyone can be overruled by someone on one of the big ships.
