LEADMAGNET

Hi all I'm new here and rather ashamed to admit that I only became a fan as the movie was released. The truth is I never even heard of Firefly when it originaly aired. This is a shame because I would have loved it then as much as now. With that said I have viewed the series and the movie numerous times and have turned many of my friends on to them also.

But now I'm hungry for more..... did the movie do well enough that I dare hope for more? Have DVD sales been good enough to make studios notice?

Better Yet has anyone official said anything about scripts?

I hope so so bad. I'm sure there is more to this story and certainly hope Mr. Whedon can bring it to us.

I'm sorry I'm sure this has been asked and answered sometime in the past.... I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping for some positive news.

Thanks

I reckon we all got the same kinda' cravin' that you do (some of us longer than others). However, we all have our guarded hopes. This seems like a pretty exciting time for all of us Browncoats though, what with the CW rumor not quite yet debunked. All we can really do at the moments is keep on flyin' and write a boatload of letters to the powers that be (CW and Sci-Fi that is). I, for one, believe that it won't be long now...

Hey, LeadMagnet,

Welcome to our little corner of the 'verse!

*hands LeadMagnet a browncoat from stores*
Here, you'll need one of these.

We're all hoping for some news soon, that we will be getting a sequel or another series on tv. We're lovin' all the new recruits coming online; you're one of 'em. It's exciting to see how many new people are discovering Firefly and Serenity everyday! So I for one am encouraged that it's not long now. We just have to keep buying those DVD's and telling folks about it. That seems to be the main thing... as you said in your post. Folks are just not aware of this show and movie!
Once they see it, they love it. So we just have to keep sharing it.

We're glad to have you, there will be folks come along and offer you a seat and some food and well, just welcome home.

Thank you all..... My Brown Coat is worn with pride and hope. I keep pushing FF / Serenity on my friends and everyone of us think it the best SCIFI in years.... although I must admit I really like the recently rebuilt Battle Star Galactica as a close second.

I will indeed sign the petition and if there is some addresses that need letters I can generate a few of those as well.

Again, thanks for setting me strait in the verse.

Oh yeah..... I assume CW is an abreviation but I'm not sure for what?

CW is an abbreviation for the new network that is the joining of the WB and UPN, I think I have that right ( it's getting late.. my brain is getting leaky!) There was a rumor that this new net was considering restarting Firefly... but Joss debunked those rumors yesterday... so they aren't. Well, as of today they aren't... I prefer to think that isn't final and they'll come to their senses any day now.

I too like the new BSG, although it's not Firefly it's pretty darn good, 'bout the best on tv right now.

I think there is a thread started with all the addresses you need. Make it snail mail if you write... it impresses the folks at studios and such if you write in your own words, in your own hand what you think about Firefly and what you want for Firefly. I am going to try to start writing every other week. I write SciFi too. Wouldn't Firefly be a great lead-in to their SciFi Friday's!?

BSG is like star trek for the adults
I must admit that FF is the best series I've ever watched...Maybe 'cause it was so short - no time to cave in into itself like x-files or just become too old and boring like ST franchise...
Welcome, welcome

Welcome aboard LeadMagnet!
Glad to keep seeing more and more join the ranks. I'm kinda new my own self. Don't feel bad about nothing seeing FF when it first came out. I didn't either, nor did I hear of it. I also saw the movie then became a fan. All that matters is that you're a Browncoat now!
I didn't read the entire thread but I think your other questions have been answered. Anyways, welcome to the Revolution and don't lose hope. We'll get more FF/Serenity yet!

Everyone here has seen Shawshank Redemption, Right?

Andy writes a letter a day, every day, and mails them to the state, trying to get more books for the prison library. After a while, the state finally gives in.

Well, we need to turn the CW into the state. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, should write a letter a day, and an e-mail a day to the CW. Eventually, the demand will be so huge they will probably give in.
