A thousand pardons if this has been covered before - I'm new to this part of the verse.

I know it's hard to judge a movie by the trailer. This is something Universal considered worth making, but not a Serenity sequel?

It sounds vaguely reminencent (sp?) of 'Lake Placid, Anaconda, Tremors I, II, & III.

All of which I can be glad to say I have not seen.

Now hold on a second, Tremors was a good movie, don't you DARE speak ill of Kevin Bacon!

Have you ever:
Used your teeth as wire strippers?
Given yourself stitches?
Made improvised munitions with no base supplies?
Pissed in a canteen?
Gone a month without bathing?

If so, you MIGHT just be a !HOOAH MOTHERF*CKER!

Well, the way I see it, this will go one of two ways. The ad campaign is obviously playing up the "Comedic-Horror" aspect of the film. If we're lucky, this will be a Shaun of the Dead, a funny movie with some jumps and some seriously disturbing visuals. If we're not lucky, it'll be Scream, a not funny movie with no scares or even discomforting visuals because they're trying so damn hard to be funny and scary simultaneously that they can't pull either off.

If Buddha is EXTREMELY kind, it might just be Evil Dead 2. But that is downright impossible. Still, it comes from the folks who did Dawn of the Dead, a film that, while I haven't seen it, my friends who have seem to have enjoyed.

Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal, Fox!

So it reminds you of movies you haven't seen yet?

Slither is definetly a horror/comedy film. And the trailer reminds me more of films like "Evil Dead" and "Shaun of the Dead." Which were both amazing films. They were horror/comedies that are flawless and will forever be cult classics. And I guess Lake Placid is sort of your extreme example of how horribly bad a horror/comedy can get. But I'm looking forward to seeing Slither. If it can do what the Evil Dead series did or what Shaun of the Dead did, even maybe half way, it could be pretty good.

And Tremors 1 is a classic man. Don't be dissing on the Tremors. Well... maybe all the sequels but not the original.

Tremors 1 - what a fine movie. But it was clearly a comedy as much as a horror film. The laughs were intentional, unlike the laughs from Lake Placid because it was so overwrought.

Is there a better line than Michael Gross at the end: "Looks like you broke into the wrong *&^% rec room?"

The Micheal Gross character, Burt Gummer, is definitely a browncoat 8-)

ROTFLMAO!!!!
*gasps for air* I'll be seeing a couple of stupid movies this year cuz Nathan is in them, and for no other reason, but geez, you cut right to the bone with that remark!

Serenity 2! Now!!!

I personaly got more of an Eight Legged Freaks vibe from the trailer.

But then again I well...sort of liked ELF.

"Joss, what is the future of television? What will we watch? And how will we watch it? Surely you must know, for you are wise, and slender."

I really like Lake Placid. I think it's one of the most underrated movies of our time. Betty White is Hi-larious. "I'm rooting for the crocodile. I hope he swallows your friends whole." roflol!

People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss

You could say the difference is "It's like Lake Placid and Anaconda, except everyone here is going to see Slither".

I have no idea how the hell Nathan Fillion can't demand at least 5 million a movie and play in anything he wants. It's not like he was motherhumping Leonard Nimoy or some such- that boy (he's four months younger than me) can do anything. That Captain Kirk dude can ONLY PLAY that one guy, Nathan has range, dong ma?

I mean shit on a stick, he won several awards for his acting in that movie and before it FF, and his movie won in every award show except the big two awards- he won every specialy award you could give for a sci-fi movie. He woulda won the Brit awards if the movie could have been nominated.

Ok, rant over.
