Hi, my name is Justin and I am new to the site. After just finishing the series and the movie for the 10th time, I really wanted to join a site that could keep my love of Firefly alive. I found it through this website. I hope my experience can be a pleasant one.

A piece of news: I know that it is not known whether Serenity 2 is being made, but when I went to California in December I walked into a Barnes and Noble and made a cool discovery.

They had a Serenity end cap with the books and movies there. Anyway, a hot girl walked up and started looking at the stuff and being as shy as I am, I worked up enough courage to talk to her. We started talking about how she hadn't seen Serenity yet, but knew what it was because of her friend.

She then proceeded to tell me about her friend and how he was doing concept art for Serenity 2. I forgot his name but after I finish posting this I will find out again and post it. He has a whole website devoted to his work. He has done tons of sketches form Pirates of the Carribean to Serenity .

I will find out so all of you can see it for yourself. I think Joss does know if there will be a 2nd movie and he is just palying with our minds.

Oops, stuffed up my last post. Sorry 'bout that.

Anyway, had a bit of spare time on my hands, so I compared the credits from Serenity (I assumed he worked on Serenity) and the upcoming Pirates sequel, and get these two matches:
Naaman Marshall .... model maker
Naaman Marshall .... model maker
Robin Roepstorff .... previsualisation
Robin Roepstorff .... pre-visualization

If you compare Serenity with the original Pirates, you get these matches:
Christopher Woodworth .... scenic supervisor
Christopher Woodworth .... scenic supervisor
Robert Rowles .... compositor
Robert Rowles .... digital artist

Any of these names ring a bell?

Otherwise, the best known concept artist for Serenity was Geoffrey Mandel, who does have a web page, but AFAIK did not work on Pirates.

It won't be 2006, no matter how it pans out. Joss already has two movies in the pipeline, so even with the best of intentions it would not happen until 2007.

Me neither. A compositor is not very far up the S/F foodchain, is it?

The only web site that I've seen where a graphic artist displayed his work on Serenity was (I thought)

but going back there now I don't see any reference to Firefly or Serenity.

Hmmm, don't know what to make of that - maybe I imagined it all. Geoffrey Mandel has done a number of StarTrek maps, and I thought he was responsible for the "Worlds of the Alliance" map in the Serenity Visual Companion. Have to check when I get home.

New guy here. Just registered to post this.

Rob Rowles was a friend of mine. Went to college together. I just recontacted him and found his site to be, surprisingly enough, http://www.robrowles.com . Nothing too interesting concerning what you're looking for, but he does have a demo reel up from 2 years ago or something. Hope this helps.
