Ok, finally saw the preview for Slither and I gotta say that Nathan Fillion can do so much better than that movie. It really looks stupid. Though on a more positive note, one of the lines Nathan says is very Mal like, but other than that, don't think it is worth the $9.75 to go see. Sorry Captain! Maybe I will rent it when it comes out if I am in the mood for something silly.

I love my captain

Well, actors have got bills to pay, too (especially those who kick in cash for fan-films). So, I don't fault Nathan for taking any work.

Besides, I think Slither looks fun. Not $9.75 fun, but I'd pay $5 for a matinee. But I've always liked the horror/comedy sub-genre (the Evil Dead/Army of Darkness series most of all), so it's more up my alley.

And the writer/director wrote what is, IMHO, the best horror movie of the last several years, Dawn of the Dead. Of course, he also wrote Scooby Doo, so I'm reserving judgement.

"I thoroughly disapprove of duels. If a man should challenge me, I would take him kindly and forgivingly by the hand and lead him to a quiet place and kill him."

It may not be a great film but it will hopefully get Nathan some attention in the movie business. Slither doesn't look like my kind of movie I agree with maybe matinee price (6.75 here ). I'm hoping the movie will do well at least.

It will bring Nathan a LOT of new fans.. who will be there for Firefly resurrected or Serenity 2 or whatever.

Even Lawrence Olivier made some schlock stuff (and I am NOT saying this is.. will have to wait and see)... Olivier said he was a WORKING actor.. and as such, he always took the best of what was available at the time...

Go Cap'n.. whatever keeps you busy and helps you be a success in Hollywood is A-OK with me,,,,

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

That is a great way of looking at it.

Any exposure that any of the BDHs can get is bound to bring more new people into the browncoat ranks.

The working actor part of things applies to many of the greatest. Samuel MF'ing Jackson didn't overtake Harrison Ford as the top-grossing actor in history by just doing one movie every few years. If he can fit it into his schedule I think he'll even be in your family christmas video.

Heck, he'll even be in "Snakes on a Plane"....So Nathan can do what he wants and I say great. Pay your bills, build your name, film more Firefly.

I have been giving this some thought. Someday soon when Nathan is making the HUGE bucks, he will look back on this movie and chuckle that yeah, he did that movie. I look forward to seeing him in some major roles.
I think I may see it during a matinee. That way I support Nathan and maybe get a little chuckle from the movie. Who knows, maybe the folks that are behind the advertising for this aren't making it seem as entertaining as it really is. Lord knows Firefly had some pretty cruddy advertising.
I will keep an open mind.

I love my captain
