How bout it Browncoats,

I don't know how many of our number here will remember(maybe a lot of the older Browncoats like me) but before there was Firefly and its crew of 8-9 space adventurers there was the Jupiter2 and its crew of 8,the Robinson space family. Lost in Space goes back to my childhood days and began my love for adventure/exploration in the black. Whats the saying, once you've been to the black you never go back(sorry)

Anyway, thought I'd make a comparison list to see how each ship matches up.

Firefly...................Jupiter2

Although some characters of one show overlap characteristics of some on the other (as in Jayne and Dr. Smith being both more selfishly absorbed and Zoe could fall into the mother roll somewhat) I think that the match-ups are fair.

Best match for Dr. Smith: Yo/Saff/Bridge. But that's not particularly close. Still, they're both characters you'd just love to pitch out the airlock.

The fact that our Bill hadn't seemed to have aged a day between Lost in Space and Babylon 5 was much scarier.

And I'm sure I saw him in the Captain America film as well. Not a completely terrible film, but profoundly ordinary, and hasn't seemed to have ever caught anyone's imagination.

I hadn't realized Mr.Mummy was staying so busy. I'm glad.I'm behind in the times when it comes to being up to date on tv shows.

working shift-work(or rotating shift) I've made a deliberate effort not to get caught up in any tv viewing that requires routine televission watching. It's why I didn't come across Friefly and view it any longer that with a slight interest. If I weren't able (AJWS) to stay with the routine the best thing for me to do is not to get interested in a show at all.

The movie had me see things differently. Now I'm backtracking to get up to speed with all the regular Browncoat folk. FIREFLYFANS.NET is a nice fun forum and I enjoy getting into the psyche of the Firefly charaters. Its a way of keeping the momentum going. I also enjoy seeing the different angles/ideas Browncoated people come up with ( I include myself as Browncoat)

PS: AJWS= As Jayne would say
I like the Jayne character (played by AB) and can identify with him more that any of the other characters. thats why I joke about him a lot.
