Just a gal out on the rim writing tales.

Howdie fellow Browncoats in the Carolinas! Seems like there's a cluster of us folk around Charlotte, with a scattering around the state.

Would anyone be interested in helping put together a "Meet and Greet" somewhere central for some Saturday this summer? Maybe pick a restaurant in the Charlotte area where we can rendezvous, party and generally talk FF. We're near Winston-Salem, but wouldn't mind the drive.

You can respond to the thread or email me at Lumenea@aol.com.

Hello!

Meet ups are great. I'm a few hours from Charlotte, myself, but I'm willing to make the drive if there are browncoats involved.

Also, I'd like to take this opportunity to invite you to the North Carolina Renn Faire on Saturday 8 April. A bunch of us are going and it should be fun!

I think this is something to look into, I know the Renn is up near Raliegh now and in Charlotte in Oct just to let everyone know. I guess we just have to keep this dialogue going until we can get something setup. Is anybody working on a list of contacts from this area so we can start getting organized?

Being in Charlotte, I'm not opposed to the meet and greet. Ren Faire fun Next Weekend. Shopping for costume bits! And cider! can't forget that. Looking forward to meeting and seeing again all those at the Faire.

I'm in. I'm on the Yahoo group mailing list, but I haven't seen any other Charlotte-based members there. However, I've sold at least two Jayne hats and a Jayne hat kit to Charlotte folks, so I know there're some of us around here. The folks I've mentioned it to have expressed an interest in a Charlotte meetup. Half the staff of the Morrocroft Borders have commented when I've walked in wearing my Serenity shift. We also have a Browncoat shift manager over at the Cotswold Starbucks, so that's another possible location for something informal.

Our thought was to find some readily accessible place on the outskirts of Charlotte (out of consideration for those who loathe big city driving.) Maybe a restaurant for foor and drinks, although a bookstore or coffee shop could work, too. I don't know the Charlotte area well enough to be able to suggest a good site, which is where you Queen City Browncoats come in handy.

I agree that it would help to have a central list of interested folk, whether an existing one or otherwise.

We can't make the Renn Fair, but I'd be happy to help with organizing a Meet-up later this summer.

I'm in upstate SC, and would be willing to drive a touch to meet people. I will join the Yahoo group, post-haste.
