Who thinks the Big Damn Sequel will center on Inara?

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

I don't know if this has been speculated before, but it's something that's sort of been bouncing around my head since last night.
I read the visual companion to the movie, and all the actors contribute little things to it. Here's the thing; I read a thread called "The Big Damn Inara Theoy" and a few people mention that Morena knows Inara's history (or at least acts like she does) but always refuses to talk about it, just like Joss refuses to talk about anything. I understand not wanting to tell the story before you get a chance to tell the story, and I appreciate that (even though it frustrates me.)
Anyway, I went on a tangent. The point is, in Morena's little quote in the Visual Companion she says "Something happened to [Inara] that I can't reveal".
As I said, I understand not telling the story before it's ready to be told. So her being so close-mouthed... Just seems to me like maybe we get her story next. Any thoughts?

Visual Companion is excellent, by the way. Anyone who doesn't have it should get one.

I don't think it would "center" on her, but I agree that there is much more to be told about Inara's story. I just recently watched Out of Gas with director commentary and Tim Minear was saying how he couldn't talk about some "hints" in that episode about Inara's backstory because it will come out later. Well, it didn't come out in the BDM, so hopefully later means in a sequel to the BDM or mini-series or series. (Clearly, we'll take it however we can get it!).

Good point, hadn't thought of that. Also, maybe now that we've got the first of the Trilogy out of the way Joss can worry less about introductions and spread the love a bit more through all the characters.

Makes sense, though. I'd love to see a bit into Inara's secret past.

You should read the thread speculating about the injection/needle she takes out of the box during the Reavers' threat in the FF pilot. (I'm sorry: I should paste the link, but I'm too lazy. Forgive.)

Her story, and Book's too. Even though he's dead. Much, much to tell.

I agree. I think we'll see a little of both stories in the sequel. Mostly because I don't think Book is dead. Or Wash for that matter. But that was a very long drawn out thread... (STEERING COLUMN!) Anyway...

I certainly wouldn't be unhappy if the next movie centered around Wash! However; "The Search for Wash" has a little too familiar of a ring to it....

It sure would be nice to know more about Book and Inara since they are such mysteries. Having more Wash would just be good for the soul!
