I am happy to spread it to every person I meet, and I did so today. I ordered a pizza at my job, and a woman delivered it, she noticed the chinese writing on my Serenity cap, she then told me that she lived in China for awhile, and had a chinese husband. I told her to check out the Firefly, and the BDM! She said she would!

AM I NOT MERCIFUL?!?!?!?

I made one of my co-workers watch it. Told him I would no longer support his sites til he had watched the entire BDM. Today he ordered the Firefly boxset AND a shiny shirt!

One summer.

And a bunch of Rings that make Shiny people do silly things!

I went to a birthday party today, and told the guy I'll be giving him the starter set once it comes out, and if he likes it but isn't willing or able to cough up the 60 bucks(!) for the season set, I'm gonna borrow him my "rotation" set.
Then I talked to 3 of the guys I occasionally meet to watch the current episode of LOST, and we decided we are going to watch the season's finale together. Then I said we could watch the Firefly pilot after that, and they very much liked the idea - so if all goes well, we'll meet again and again over the summer to watch Firefly together (and probably some other series).
People also made favorable remarks as to my shiny Serenity Valley shirt from BlueMoon. (Fact, not advertising.

) I think it really helped a bit that they thought the shirt was shiny (although they used the word "cool". How can low temperatures express your appreciation for something? Silly rabbits.).
I also made another guy I know and met there again interested in the series and the movie and told a few people how shiny that Starter DVD Set is that's gonna come out next month (Firefly Pilot + The Train Job, coupon for 5 Euros (6.50$) off on purchase of the full set, price: 4.97 Euros). I think some might pick it up if they see it somewhere. It really is an excellent idea, btw.

I guess because Firefly was on TV in your country, while in mine they're trying to get people to buy the quite expensive DVD set of a series they have never heard of. But I dunno.
Whatever the reason for the release in Germany only is, it's a very shiny, fair, official and current effort by Universal Germany to spread the signal. Maybe Mal is gonna be the next David Hasselhoff!

There's also starter sets for Buffy and Angel coming out, btw.

Sweet recruitment! I am moving back to my hometown, so I visited a friend and convinced him to watch Firefly Disc 1 and the BDM! Also, promises to work on other friends I have out there. Perhaps a little Firefly party with big gaudy fake fireflies? Or since i'll be in the country, maybe in the summer when the sun's going down and the fireflies start twinkling? I'll have to ask the old man if there's a firefly drink.

Well, I heard him sing in German, and it's hilarious how he pronounces everything so passionate and hwai, although he doesn't have a clue what the hell he's singing about.
If I could have, I'd have taught him total nonsense lyrics, but told him it's all romantic and shit, and he'd sing his little heart out...
