For quite some time now, FF has been $24.99 at Amazon and Serenity has been $19.99. Today I noticed that FF has been bumped up to $34.99 and Serenity has been dropped a peg down to $15.96.

I have no idea the reasoning, if any, behind the price changes, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

my guess is that the sales of the series are so good that they decided they could make more money by increasing the price....

sorry the price is up, but glad the sales have increased....

a good indicator of continued popularity....

That's the way it works.

They look at annual sales, and say "Hey, that firefly thingee has remained consistent since it's release. What can we do to capitalize on that?"

Sometimes, we're our own worst enemy. :D

Oh they do. How do you think some of these tv shows get renewed?

However for Firefly it was much too late and I believe was just a year or so behind the TV series on DVD boom.

Yeah, I noticed that yesterday. Wednesday they'd sent me a email showing the nice shiny prices for FF, the BDM and both soundtracks, but had bumped up the prices by yesterday afternoon...except at Target.com. Last night it was still at $24.99, and I bought a copy for a friend's birthday.

Today? Yeah, Target caught up, it seems. They're now listing at the $34.99 price as well.

Finally did it...

I finally broke down and ordered Firefly. I was trying to hold out until next month, but with the price increases, I didn't want to take any chances. and my sister is buying Serenity for my birthday!
