I was installing some drywall screws. I had the electric drill in my right hand and the screws in my left. The drill spun out of the screw and right onto my thumb. Needless it hurt like hell...

What happened next required a bit of reflection. Grasping my thumb, loud and profane words emmitted from my mouth. It went something like this... (edited for content)

GORRAMMIT!!! &$##&@@#$$%%%!!!

Gorrammit?

Just exactly when did Firefly words become imbedded into my language? Not only that, in a moment of passion, the first words uttered.

Welcome to the 'talk like a Joss show' group. That was the first word I yelled yesterday when I discovered the squirrel had been ripping at the door facing for my storage room on my balcony again.

My speech patterns run to Firefly with some Buffy speak here and there.

Hey, though, I was talking to an newly-initiated browncoat friend of mine yesterday; she hasn't even seen all the episodes. Anyway, we were talking about the cancelation, because she was boggled on that point, and I called the fox execs "Gorram idiotic hwoon dans" without even thinking about it. Her eyes got kinda wide.

My husband did something like that a few weeks ago. he works nights and calls me on his break. We were talking about something and he said "Shiny". I had to ask if he really said that. I laughed extremely hard because I'm the one whose more obsessed than he is but he said it first. I've had the words run through my head but not said them out loud. It's just funny how this gets into your life and takes hold. (not that I'm complaining)

Actually. "Gorramit", followed by a much stronger swear word, was the first thing I said today, and it came from the heart. I had been bidding on THIS gem for days (at about 80 bucks), and in the last 30 seconds, it went beyond 200 bucks, and went for 232 - but not to me.

I would have gone higher, but, living in Germany, postage is 30 bucks, and I have to pay taxes (16%) and toll fees (12%) on all of it. SO if I had gotten the poster itself for 230 bucks (my highest bid), it would have been 260 bucks, PLUS about 50 bucks.
I'd like to add that similar posters for other movies signed by EVERY main cast member, some supporting actors, the writer and some (key) persons from the crew and post have gone for LESS.

This really pisses me off. Check the poster out, it's so incredibly awesome, and you can actually READ the autographs, and its a DS poster, and Summer signed it with the most beautiful autograph I have seen from her yet AND it's big and in the middle and with a heart and all.
I'm so pissed off. "Gorrammit!", indeed. Your thumb will heal, but that poster will never hang on my wall.
