I haven't been around in awhile, so I'm behind.

There once was a time that I was going into the "new browncoat" posts and *pouring very FRESH wine* to welcome you all to the 'verse.

Now I'm curious.

If you've just recently joined the site, drop on in. The wine shall flow until everyone gets a cup.

(Non-alcoholic is also available, upon request.)

STEAMER

I donned my coat of brown at the beginning of the year. When the Serenity DVD came out, a friend of mine couldn't stop gushing about it - and then when she shared some fanvids with me, out I went to get the TV series. After that scene in the pilot where Serenity squeaks by the Reaver ship, I was hopelessly obsessed.

So here I am, writing fanfic, making fanvids, starting to make LJ icons, working on a Mal costume, using FF expletives and speaking Chinese all over the place - and to top it all off, every other night I have increasingly romantic dreams about River.....

Cosen, you are not intruding in the least - and I'd accept a nice bottle of Luguana Bianco, though I've never tried it, just cuz.

Magdalene is only two weeks old! WOW! It amazes me every time when someone comes in who is that new.

Steamer - that's a great signature.

22 Claws - Every Browncoat should have your post as a T-shirt or a tattoo, as personal preference allows.

Who am I? Oh, just a Browncoat who suffered through the throes of cancellation, went to every pre-screening in Minneapolis before the premiere, gave away a portrait of Mal to a finer Browncoat than me - KNIBBLET - for her work on the charity silent auction for that premiere, and now perpetuator of Firefly goodness. I'm currently sending my loaner copy of the series DVDs to a new guy in Houston.

Now that does sound like bragging, I know, but I only tell you all this, just so you know how much I appreciate new faces. Some fandoms get possessive of their fandoms, afraid someone's going to come in and try to change it.

Not this one. In fact recruiting new Browncoats is what we do, and that has made us mighty. It got us the BDM, which isn't supposed to happen for a 13-episode series.

I applaude your friends for shoving the series into your hands, and I applaude you for wearing a brown suede coat, a Hawaiian shirt or a Jayne hat for no apparent reason.

Why? Because YOU are MIGHTY.

I am new - in the past month or so. I bought the Firefly epidosdes based on a whim and a recommendation from a online deal site. I watched the whole series in 2 days and have never looked back. I dont post much, but I do have a nice new brown coat (Thanks again for that Followmal!)

J6NGO1977 - you'll have to tell me what your screen name means some time. When I double post, I usually edit the second one with something clever... or something that just SOUNDS clever at 2 in the blessed a.m. When all else fails, put in a quote from the series or the movie that applies.
