Dogs! What breed would they be? Well, I'm bored with my background, and plan on making a sort of cartoony picture featuring out heroes as a different breed of dog. I just kept thinking "Independent Dogs" and 'black market beagle' during my government final today. I have a few ideas for some, but based on personality/looks, what do you think they would look like?
Might take awhile, but this might be my little project!

It's neat because I think it is.

SIMONWHO

Mal: Border collie. Commanding, expects others to do as he directs. Likes to be rubbed behind the ears.

River: Rescue dog. Panicky. Occasionally calm. Might bite you.

Simon: Vizsla. Loyal, well bred and smart in a stupid kind of way.

Zoe: Labrador. Obedient, tough yet you can still play with her.

Jayne: Hooch from Turner and Hooch. Bark's worse than his bite and he's a big old softie if you rub his belly.

Kaylee: Small yapper type dog. Incredibly eager to please and also to hump your leg.

Wash: Greyhound. He's thin but he's fast. He'll surprise you.

Inara: Show dog. Perpetually groomed, proud yet used to having judges inspect her anatomy.

Book: German Shepherd. Though not actually German.

SWEETSERENDIPITY

Have to agree with most of yours, SimonWho. Except for Jayne. Hooch was a mastiff I think, more lover than fighter. I think for him, a boxer. Ok, I'm partial, I have one. Incredibly pugnacious, but also loving ( see HoG). Also very licky, see Jaynes obsession with smell, touch, and taste.

kaylee, a good small yapper is a Pomeranian.

I agree with SimonWho for Mal, Book, Zoe and Simon.

Inara I'd probably peg as a Borzoi- a greyhound-like dog with long, silky hair and really regal looking.

Wash, though, I'd see him more like an Irish Wolfhound or Old English Sheepdog- sort of scruffy and easy-going with a quirky sense of humour.

Kaylee's maybe a Samoyed or Shetland Sheepdog- really fluffy and cheerful and energetic.

Jayne's a Bullmastiff- can be mean-looking but deep down all he wants is a squeakie toy to chase

River's for some reason a Brittany- a sproting/water dog. Graceful but tough and pretty.

I'd like to see the finished background, too!

*bump* just for the heck of it. And it would be interesting to see people's opinions if it cropped up again...
