We are doing online viewings of Firefly at the Cylon Cafe chatroom Thursdays at 9pm EST. starting this Thursday 3rd August with the pilot Serenity. The cafe can be found at www.galacticabs.com at the top of the page in a box. Its a download and unfortunately isn't available for Mac users, sorry.

We all play our own DVD etc. wherever and chat at the same time. We did this with the BDM a couple of weeks ago and it was great fun.

Everyone's welcome, so I'll see you there.

Britexpat

I don't have the DVD's, I lent them to a friend I'm trying to convert, are you doing this every week and will it ever be streaming?

We are doing it every week at the same time, but I'm not sure about the streaming thing. The creator of the chatroom has talked about doing it, but apparently you need lots of bandwith or something. Sorry, but I'll let you know if we ever do do that.

With so many available options, it's sorta lame to use a format that excludes Mac users. I work at a design studio with a bunch of recent FF converts, but, alas, we won't be welcome.

For shame!

Well since I didn't create the chatroom I can't say whether its lame or not, having not put the work in myself, but I'll be sure to pass it along to the person who has worked long and hard to make a Firefly chatroom from what is originally a BSG one.

The intention wasn't to exclude anyone, but to offer a fun night to Firefly fans, I'm sorry you are taking it as a personal affront to all mac users, but perhaps you could rectify the problem by creating a chatroom for both Mac and PC users, with all the software out there you shouldn't have a problem.

Sorry, Britexpat, I should have included a winky or a smiley to indicate that I was being a bit tongue-in-cheek. While it does seem silly to use an exclusive format, I certainly don't take it as a personal affront. We Mac-heads are used to being excluded.

Seriously, though, I hope y'all have fun!

The creator is actually working on one that can be used by both Mac and PC users, but apparently it takes longer to "do" than expected. Its not my field of expertise so I have no idea how its done, I just reap the benefits of someone else being willing to do this for free in his own spare time.

Anyway, I'll let you know if we do get one that is Mac compatible, and then you'll be able to join us.

Thanks, I think I might do that when I get them back.
