Couldn't find another thread that mentioned this, and well I love Gina's work as much as I love seeing her working. Forgive me if this is just duplicate news.

Gina's got a new(ish) show! The show is called Standoff, it airs Tuesdays 8/7c on Fox; started sometime in September. She plays Cheryl Carrera, (FBI) Supervisory Special Agent in Charge of a Crisis Negotiation Unit. According to imdb.com the show is about "a pair of hostage negotiators try to resist their budding attraction to each other." Gina's character is their boss.

Here's Gina's description of her new character, from her website www.gina-torres.com

"I play the supervisor of this crisis negotiation and SWAT unit — another capable kick-ass chick. She’s fun to watch. I’m still learning about her. This show has a great cast with actors who are just wonderful, funny and charming. It’s a joy to go to work every day on this show."

Yeah, it disturbs my calm that they're on myspace (yup I'm old), but it looks to be free. I'm downloading over my slow connection as I type, so go support a BDH and take a look-see.

edit: link works but only 3 most recent episodes, and the player is troublesome if you're on a wireless or slow network if you've found the earlier eps., the pilot, or a better medium (player) share with the class...

I've been too far under the rock labeled "full time student" to watch TV this fall or give a real review. Anyone been following the series?

You were busy trying to get yourself lit on fire. It happens.

I've been watching it the whole time. I like it a lot, and Gina's character seems to be getting more and more screen time and actual work every episode. And, well, I like Ron Livingston, too, so that doesn't hurt. The main guy with the guns, Frank, gets the best lines, in my opinion.

Thanks for the info Handsof. I watch so little TV anymore I miss a lot. Learn more about whats going on in the world from reading posts like yours.

Will keep a watchful eye for this show.
