I think it is just a regular theater screening, but there may be organizers involved or just the theater owner/management.

You got any theaters around you that show midnight movies or classics. Maybe they just need to know that there are people out there who would run to a theater to see Serenity and eat lots of food. Theaters make most of their money on food and drink.

Theaters can play Serenity anytime they want. They just have to be convinced that they will make a profit.

Melbourne, Aussieland. There is a Serenity Charity screening being arranged for June 2007. See http://www.serenitymelbourne.blogspot.com/ and http://www.cantstoptheserenity.com/

When you check with a cinema about a regular (non-charity) screening, be sure to mention that they can can announce Serenity screenings by going to the Other Screenings section of the CSTS website: http://www.cantstoptheserenity.com/otherscreenings.html and mention where you can post the info too.

And if they need to find a bunch of Whedon fans in their area, go to http://www.bigdamnboard.com/websites/groups/ or http://groups.yahoo.com/search?query=browncoats

and for Aussieland http://serenitymovie.com.au/

Good luck!

So, did anybody go to the RI shows?

I would have, but I'm getting over a cold. I figured nobody would appreciate the coughing and sniffling.

I went to the Saturday night screening and there were a good 50 people there. And the movie was fantastic as always. There's something about seeing Serenity (the ship) that big that makes me more happy than I can fathom. When is the sequel coming out?????? Complete with the "Wash's resurrection" scene...
