Hi,

I have never heard of Firefly until today,
and will soon be able to watch the pilot.

What can I expect?

Is this somehow comparable to, for example, Star Trek?

Please tell me,

Thank you.

It’s wonderful and beautiful and wonderful and incomparable and many times more wonderful. You’re in for a ride Zampano.

All I suggest is that you watch more than one episode. The first time I saw Firefly I didn’t like it for some reason. One episode later I was in an obsessive love.

Firefly is an action-adventure science fiction western, and the "science fiction" part is taken the least seriously. Sometimes, you could see it as a parody of Star Trek. In any case, Firefly is far more tongue-in-cheek than Star Trek, and the fictional world is far more volatile.

There is a moment in Firefly that encapsulates this well. When they discover something horrific, the boarding party fails to report what all the commotion is about. Wash, the person in charge of communication asks what the *&^$#$% is going on, his wife (in the boarding party)interrupts him with "not now, dear". That's a good poke at Star Trek.

BTA,

yer my favorite person Kayt. I had a similar reaction when I first saw it. I didn't know if everyone was going to continue being as shiny as I thought they might be.

I’ve given up on trying to tell. It's no fun and he could be anyone... it's really quite scary in a somewhat boring way.

Anyway, Whiff of Tash... next seasons new “in” perfume?

And Maniac, kiss kiss, love love.

Not me, Sir!

Of course I do not really know what "tash" is, but apparently I use so much of the stuff that I am unable to catch it.
