It was #5 over the Memorial Day weekend. This is why Waitress is holding theaters, it is also doing good over the weekdays. Little hard to see a 3-hour movie on a weeknight.

Go Nathan!

Don't know much about this film, is it what is euphemistically referred to as a "chick flick"? I'm thinking of all those new female Nathan fans who can be pointed in the direction of a DVD set of You-Know-What...

I've heard Waitress referred to as a "chick flick" and also that it is not a "chick flick".

I've seen it twice now. Seen men in the audience. Couples I think.

I've read one post of a Firefly fan who took someone to see Waitress and now that person did not scoff (like usual) when the idea of watching Firefly was brought up again. So the plan is working.

The more people see of Nathan Fillion's work, the more people want to see of Nathan Fillion's work.

Remember that "Doctor from Waitress". As in, there is a Serenity Charity Screening happening in June, wanna? Serenity never heard of it. It's a movie. The Doctor from Waitress is in it. And its for charity.

Are you talking about Waitress being 3 hours? It's only 2. Okay, probably not, I'm a little thick-headed sometimes.

I agree with Anony -- Waitress isn't really a chick flick in that it's not a sweet romantic comedy. There's not really a lot of romance in it. But it is does deal heavily with "women's issues" like being stuck in a marriage with a controlling husband, an unwanted pregnancy, and the consequences of extra-marital affairs.
I find it's a light-hearted way to deal with some very serious topics. I took my husband to see it and he really liked it. But, then again, he doesn't limit himself to "dude flicks" either.

If you're a fan of Nathan's, I would recommend it.

Others have been confused by my post too elsewhere. I was trying to say Waitress has a better weekday theater average than Spiderman because Spiderman is a three hour movie and people don't usually have that amount of time on a weekday. And Waitress can be shown almost twice in the time Spiderman shows once.

So maybe theaters will hold Waitress longer because it is doing good during the week too.

SIRI

I just saw Waitress this afternoon. I liked it and Nathan was really good in his part. I thought he was funnier in Slither but I think this is a movie that will appeal to a larger audience. It was a Sunday afternoon and showing at one of the larger theatres (it's in 4 or 5 theatres in St. Louis). It was about 3/4 full and the audience seemed to be mostly couples of various ages. There was a lot of laughter and people seemed to enjoy the show.
