KAREL

Flying on duct tape and a damaged registry.

www.woot.com, an online gadget bargain store, dissed Firefly in their description of their "product of the day".

From http://www.woot.com -- “Hyper-octo-matry is the medical condition where an octopus is understimulated. It can lead to death, or worse, thinking Firefly is well written.”

woot!(r) now finds themselves hosting a Browncoat Forum: http://www.woot.com/Forums/ViewPost.aspx?PostID=1509752

I haven't checked www.whedonesque.com or the OB just yet for fallout.

I am a woot!(r) fan, if for nothing else, their silly and sometimes hilarious product descriptions. Sometimes their products are cool, too.

"And we've just heard that in the English Channel, a ship carrying red paint has collided with a ship carrying purple paint. It is believed that both crews have been marooned. And now, back to our regular programme." -- The Two Ronnies.

WASHNWEAR

Thanks, Karel (sincerely & no funny stuff) for sharing more of the diversity of views that are running around in the 'Verse...misguided though some of them they may seem.

Woot (first I've ever heard of it) and its staff are every bit as entitled to their opinion as I am to mine...and right now my opinion is that I've survived 42 years on Earth-that-will-have-been without benfit of Woot's invaluable...Woot-ness...and I'm ready to take a shot at another Woot-less 42 (or however far I make it).

What's their idea of good writing? The World According to Jim?

All their taste was in their mouth when we got here!

STOWEAWAY

It's good to see some Browncoat love goin' on at woot. I'm the occasional wooter and I think this is the first time I've seen it mentioned.
(The love obviously coming from the forum -- NOT the description)

TERRI

I rushed over here to post this on the board, and I see that you beat me to the punch. I love Woot and I check there every day. They're pretty funny, and I just take this an another sign of their off the wall humor. At the very least it means that some Browncoat has been bugging them to watch Ariel or somesuch, and the wooters are tired of hearing about it. Oh, but the word is out now.
