I am a long-time lurker, but never had any compelling reason to post anything until now. I came across this information about sales number of the Serenity SE that I thought would be of interest. The good news is that it was the 6th highest selling new release the week of 21 August.

The so-so news is that there were no big new releases that week and the reported sales number was roughly 32,000 units pulling in about $580,000.

Ahoy, Zeledonia! You're #28060 to sign on aboard our shiny ship!! That's a whole lot of crew, but we seem to be able to expand infinitely, like the 'Verse.

We'll take your double-edged news and try to talk more 'coats into stocking up. Stocking up? Stocking stuffers? H'mmmmmmm......

There's cheese being heated up yonder in the galley, where we keep the buffet confined so it may be questioned at our pleasure. There'll soon be fresh bao, and cider, and mangoes, and yes, the shimmerwine fountain for which we are famous. They wanted me to pay for the ice-planets so I didn't bring any this time.

For now, down here by the ramp, we're handing out strawberries and mugs of Mudder's Milk to all the newcomers and occasionally to those who have sneaked out and come around again, the naughty little 'coats!

Are you in any of the D*C photos? (Blackmail a FB specialty, right after berry-gathering and brewing)

Dunno what it all means, yet, but, the retail prices on all the Serenity and Firefly Series DVDs (with the apparent exception of the original issue Serenity DVDs) are going up. Substantially.

I hear tell, from other, perhaps savvier Browncooats, that they might come back down again, come the holidays, but, why are they going up (25% at Target for the Firefly Series DVD set) in the first place?

May'haps it has something to do with the CE coming out, and people (being Target corprate and whatnot) want to try and cash in on similar swag while people are buying Serenity CE "I see you bought Serenity... it's a GREAT movie, did you know it was based on a TV show? We have the boxed set right over here *leads unsuspecting vict *coughs* GUEST over to the boxed set...*"

And, yes, I DO work at Target, as a cashier...

Also, I've just been too damn tired of the place lately to go look for myself, I get off work, I come home, and stay as FAR AWAY as possible from Target... working 8 to 5 sucks

Good morning folks
In my opinion I think that the CE of Serenity has done surprisingly well. I mean, it isn’t a surprise for me but if you think about it, here’s a BDM that’s been out almost a couple of years already and sales of the same movie with some added bonus material are impressive. I don’t know about other browncoats but I do know that there are many fans that just won’t fork out more chashy money for something they already have. That’s what makes the browncoat fans so great. We have done that, and we have brought in new fans that will be loyal to the cause. FF/Serenity just keep getting bigger and bigger and there’s a lot more coin to be had if there’s another movie or some smart network continues the series.
