So another event has passed and no news ?

so it appears after this weekends Creation Con we have no news regarding the sequel. How did so many firefly fans meet their fave stars and not one get a straight answer about whether what alan said was true or not ?

I thought it was pretty clear from the reports,

that Alan had meant that sales of DVDs could lead to a sequel...
that he had heard that from Nathan...
the key word being COULD (not will lead to a sequel)

I am keeping the faith, because a wonderful convention w/lots of fans having fun & spending money,
with vendors selling licensed Firefly/Serenity based souvenirs,
is going to encourage Universal to do a sequel, sooner or later.....

The QMX guys were very interesting on this too.. they said- in no uncertain tones to the audience, that Univeral had taken notice at the amount of merch being sold and the fact that the numbers ARE INCREASING not decreasing.

Their talk was very intersting to me, as this is a completely collateral source of money for Universal.. and it is growing, not diminishing.

Consider too, that Creation Ent. had LICENSED everything they sold in connection with the con.. and they made new Tshirts, limited edition plates and swag.. all of which is $$$ To universal..

so... I too take hope.

There is always hope. A sequel depends on how well Serenity CE sells. We have to continue to hold the line.

No one at Uni is talking seriously about a movie. They may be wondering why we are still wanting one but not enough to do anything about it yet.

Yet, being the operative word. Keep spreading the word by buying lots of sets for Christmas and Birthdays.

I do too. There's lots of stuff going on. 2 cons, a Cruise, we have the CE DVD. All this licensed merchandise is just more opportunities to show Uni how mighty we are.

We've been given the key and the instructions by Joss... we just need to buy the CE DVD and introduce folks to the wonderfulness that is Firefly/Serenity.
There will be a tipping point, we just need to make it happen.
