I could not resist your thread. I also wonder what it is like to eat with a pin in your tongue. But prople pierce every part of their bodies now that it is probably a minor inconvenience compared to the other regions of the body that are assaulted by stainless steel.

One of my best friends recently had her tongue pierced... she's an awesome rebel, but it only lasted a few days - she couldn't eat and was in too much pain to keep it in...

This friend is one of the strongest most amazing women I know and has had so much surgery in her life, she is in and out of hospital every few months! She took it out and hasn't looked back (except that it still hurt for a few days...)

Mind you... having kissed a guy with a pierced tongue... mmmmmmmm.....

yeah... there's the cons and the pros...

YES!!! That is exactly what I think of when I see someone with a pierced tounge. Which is why I will never ever get one.

I am flirting with the idea of tattoo's, but I'm not going to rush it.

Well the saga has ended. ER trip last night proved that said piercing had become infected and #1 under DR orders has removed the offensive item.

I am not allowed to gloat, but I AM much happier now.

UGH!!! Peircings...am pierce-a-phobic to the max...
(maybe coz my demented Sicilian parents got my ears pierced when I was 3 mnths old and I was traumatised by it)but on your tongue! y would u do that? or on your nipple or any bit that rubs against clothing or could get stuck in your teeth. I'm huddled up in a ball rocking and shaking and muttering.

While I'm not particularly in love with all over piercings, I think the worse thing by far is not decorating your body as you choose because you're too terrified of what others folks will think of you, or because you're terrified of regret. We're all wormfood eventually, why not send yourself there in whatever state you please?

And sorry, but - pierced tongues are only useful on outdoor plumbing? Just a bit phallus focused there, aren't ya? Cause that particular bit of jewelry is quite applicable to women. (Reference Willow: "It's a total loss of control, and not in a nice, wholesome, my girlfriend has a pierced tongue kind of way...")

I choose to not pierce my body or tattoo it because I'm too damn good looking. Actually, it has something to do with my mother living in Germany during world war 2, and my learning in school what happened to Jews with tattoos.
