Not SIX from BSG, either!

I'm askin, cause y'all are the brains who can figure this out, and I'm stuck. Sorry, no prizes here. But I'm looking for something, anything which can be associate with 6 and Firefly.

Like.... the original 'crew' of Serenity? Mal, Zoe, Wash, Kaylee, Inara and Jayne...I count Inara, though she's more of a crew of her own sort onboard Serenity. Ok, that's pretty weak, but it got the ball rolling.

Now it's your turn.

well there is 1AGE06 Jaynestown. The hero of Canton? The man they call Jayne? Also young river from Safe she looked to be about 6 years old. That's a stretch. Really, I got nothing.

Darn, I thought I knew the answer.

Nathan (Captain Malcolm Reynolds in Firefly) Fillion went on a date with the actress who plays Number Six in the New BattleStar Galactica. At a convention, he verified this and said it was the best date he EVER had.

Completely off topic, of Sci-Fi, that is. There happens to be a college football game this weekend, where one team, AUBURN currently has a 5 game win streak over its arch rival alabama . One popular theme, of course, is the number 6. After the number 6, I thought of Six from BSG. But being a Browncoat, I wanted to get even more obscure and try to come up w/ something Firefly/ Serenity related.

Maybe this is a reach but Mal's pistol looks like an old-time 6-shooter.

It was 6 years from the battle of serenity valley to the start of Firefly.

There is about 6 months difference between the BDM and Firefly.

hmmm will try to think of more...

Best I've seen yet. Thanks!

( I know Mal's gun resembles a 6 shooter, but certainly it has more than 6 rounds in it, right ? 500 yrs in the future, I'm guessing the truly geeky Browncoats can tell us for sure ) Thanks !

geeky Browncoats meant w/ the HIGHEST regard, fyi.

Um... only for sufficiently large values of six.

I guess you could cheat and change "landing is" to "landing's".

Hmmm... maybe there were six whores in the House of Gold? Not counting the thoughtfully-provided boy whores.

I don't really think the number six is all that prominent in the Firefly canon.

I'm pointin' right at it!

Personally, no offence, I thought that was the weakest. :) Mal says it's about 8 month. The accuracy of that number is questionable, though, so the whole number is a mite fuzzy. Here's a few for ya, though:

Wash says he spent six weeks on a moon where the principal form of recreation was juggling geese.

And Jayne said (regarding Vera): "Six men came to kill me one time, and the best of them carried this."

I think he actually meant the gun part not the timeline.

(BTW... Mal said it was 8 months since River and Simon had been on Serenity, so it would be a shorter length of time between the end of the show and the start of the movie. Not really sure where I got 6 months though. I think I read it somewhere and it stuck in my little brain.)

Surely this is past timely, but in case somebody checks it later,

Jayne says him and Stitch Hession worked together about 6 months before Canton (Jaynestown).

Mal tells Monty he married yosaffbridge "a half year back" which would be about 6 months if they still use a 12 month calendar. (Trash)

In The Train Job, the 6th Anniversary is the only U-Day occasioned in a Firefly episode.

In Safe, River is 17 and the flashbacks are "11 years earlier" which would make her 6 years old, although the actress portraying is 8 years old.

Saffron left husband Durren Haymer on Bellerophon 6 years ago. (Trash)

In BDM, the script says opening scene is class of 12 year-olds where River is at least 2 years younger, making her about 10, and this transitions into the escape scene where the script says River is 16, so this would be a 6 year old flashback.

The others I've noticed are listed above.
