We dropped the mezzanine level 15 feet to create the stage and open the space for lighting and such. This was an incredibly cool sight to see as we lowered this two ton monstrosity. We shot a video of it which will be posted soon on youtube and at www.guerillatheatre.com We're very excited that we were able to re-use all of the original wood from the historic building as we convert it into the Brown Coat. The building was constructed in 1919-1920 as a dress and tailor's shop. We're doing everything we can to rehab and preserve the original stone flooring, but it isn't in good shape thanks to years of neglect and being covered over with three layers of bad carpet, linoleum and glue. We're also rehabbing the original brick which has been equally abused. Next step is installing new bathrooms and the pub/concession area. More than a few times while working on her, I've thought about Mal in "Out of Gas". I keep saying to myself "treat her proper and she'll be with ya for the rest of your life."
