found this just browsing around on youtube, uses the ballad of serenity as the chorus for a full song. don't know if its been posted here or not as i can't seem to find a search feature on this board.

It's been around for a spell, but nice repost.

Personally, I think she has an awesome voice and the guitar fits nicely, but the additional lyrics don't do it for me. Too incoherrent and lacking rhymes. Still an awesome song, though. I think it's even on "Done the Impossible", but I might be mistaken and might have seen it on YouTube instead.
I'm getting old.

Yup , it is on the soundtrack of Done The Impossible...The singer's name is Michelle Dockrey , and she attends this board occasionally as 'Vixy'.

It's a very fine song , and she sings so sweetly...

Vixy (Michelle) is one of our local celebrities and often performs at our shindigs for Sereniversary and Can't Stop the Serenity. Hearing her sing "Mal's Song" in person is way better than the YouTube version and when a crowd of Browncoats is singing along with her...well, it gives me chills.
I think we've recruited newbies because of that song.
She's going to be releasing a CD soon-ish with the song on it and it's been so hard to be patient.

I really like the song. Her voice is quite beautiful. I too must also admit that some of the lyrics don't really do it for me but the tone and obvious true passion in her voice more than make up for it. She embodies in the song what makes us Browncoats. Sheer determination, passion and intense love of our dear 'verse. Even though Joss created it the fact is it is ours. We made it so.
