(Reposted from previous thread:)

Manual mornin' stats VOMP!

[Vampnom!]

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote

http://www.richlabonte.net/tvvote

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/index.html

ALL three links work for voting, so if you have trouble, you can try an alternate address instead.

You can vote for more as many Top 40 shows as you like, once every hour. You can only nominate one show per hour, at:

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/nominations.html

Download the FlyVote voting timer, a NEW version of the program. It'll remind you when it's time to vote, each hour: http://usbmicro.com/misc

Votes are counted per network IP, so, don't go to the library or your office and vote hourly on each computer on the subnet, or all votes will be thrown out; multiple votes on rotating IPs will likewise be rejected.

Top two shows as of this morning:

(Statistics in parentheses are previous day's stats, for comparison purposes)

Total votes Firefly: 621,523 (620,475)

Yesterday, Browncoats voted 1,048 (1,088) times, 40 fewer than the previous day.

Total votes Xena: 497,723 (497,135)

Yesterday, Xenites voted 588 (610) times, 22 fewer than the previous day.

(Xenites voted 460 (478) times less than Browncoats, yesterday.)

Firefly is 123,800 (123,340) votes ahead of Xena, more than the vote total of #22 show Star Trek: Voyager 122,324. That puts us at 1,200 (1,660) votes away from a 125k vote lead, about 2.61 (3.47) days!

We'll get our next banner, for 625,000 votes, in another 3,477 (4,525) votes, and, 3.32 (4.16) days!

Our next, big goal, 650,000 votes, is 28,477 (29,525) votes, and, 27.17 (27.14) days away!

6,706,878 (6,694,287) votes have been counted as of 04/17/08. Yesterday, 12,591 (13,141) votes were cast. Our share fell to 9.2669499% (9.2687245%) of all votes ever cast. Our share of the voting pie remains at 9%.

In other TV Vote news (shows whose voters also support Firefly and the Whedonverse, so, let's return the favor, shiny?):

#5 show Battlestar Galactica got 577 (593) votes, and, is currently receiving enough votes to overtake #4 show, Gunsmoke, which got 306 (327) votes, yesterday, in 104.22 (107.2) days. BSG is also closing in on the 5th Hall of Fame slot, and, is 2,310 (2,887) votes, and, 4 (4.87) days, away!

#7 show Buffy got 630 (651) votes, yesterday. Currently, Buffy is receiving enough votes to pass #6 show Farscape, which received 334 (358) votes, yesterday, in 37.89 (38.77) days. Buffy is also in pursuit of the 6th Hall of Fame slot, and, is 29,237 (29,867) votes, and 46.41 (45.88) days, away, while Farscape is 54.41 (51.69) days from getting there, first.

Buffy's maintaining her lead in the Hall of Fame race! Let's vote to keep her there!

#11 show Angel got 546 (545) votes, yesterday. Angel is currently receiving enough votes to pass #9 show Combat!, which received 369 (378) votes, yesterday, in 39.79 (43.23) days.

#15 show Babylon 5 got 434 (452) votes, yesterday, and, is on track to pass #14 show Stargate SG-1, which got 274 (273) votes, in 41.64 (38.11) days.

#30 show Dark Shadows got 383 (423) votes, yesterday, and is receiving enough votes to pass #29 show Charmed, which got 226 (253) votes, in 19.24 (18.69) days.

#48 show (#8 in the Nominations Poll) Moonlight got 363 (352) votes, yesterday. It will take .05 (1.09) days to pass #47 show Lancer. Moonlight will be the new #47 show, tomorrow!

Thanks, again, for your time, and, for your support of these great shows!

AND...

The Avengers 9914
Bleak House 9666
Surface 9619
Remington Steele 9554

Surface passed Remington Steele, and, we got 216 Nominations votes, yesterday!

It's another 47 votes to pass Bleak House, not a big vote-getter, which means it'll take us just one more day to catch them. No sweat! After that, sheer volume of numbers will mean a couple of days to pass The Avengers, even if they're sitting still. 10K is on the way!

VOMP (Surface)

Thanks Leopard. But you misunderstand.

I am not looking for "Thank You" or a pat on the back.

I was merely trying to size up if everybody was aware that we needed to focus heavily on John Doe yesterday, to assist the Nimsters in their efforts to help Doe get a good lead on Thomas.

As it turns out, it looks as if not only did most people here ignore my call for a head count, but the majority of Nimsters ignored my call to help Doe as well, leaving me, on a day I should be jazzed that we nearly matched our record, feeling like I am wasting my efforts.

Even Tex didn't appear to be paying any attention whatsoever.

I am so frustrated, I may quit doing the Reports and give up altogether. Perhaps I need a life.

Hell, we should have been 80 Noms in front of Thomas this AM. Instead we are 3 behind.

What a bunch of....(what's Fireflyspeak for shit?)

(Not a vump.)

I believe the term you're looking for is gos se.

Jstn, you have just hit upon the true difficulty of motivating voters. It's like herding cats. From the totals Surface got, it is clear that most Surface voters were too jazzed about getting a great score, the day before, to stop to help John Doe with a short-term goal, and, that's understandable. From the numbers, most of 'em don't vote Firefly, either, and, I don't mind.

If you scold the Nimsters, now, you'll just confuse 'em. It was a nice gesture on your part, to ask them to push John Doe way ahead in the Noms, but, you already ask a lot of them in just getting them to vote for their own show.

So, Thomas the Tank Engine will continue to gain ground on John Doe. Big deal. JD will still pass a lot of other shows. The reality is, JD just doesn't have the sustained core votership, as you have pointed out, to keep him ahead of TtTE.

I'll still nom John, among my other noms, as a favor to Tex. But, you have to remember to focus on your main goal, which is to advance Surface. You'll have the rest of us vumping Browncoats to back you up, without making a special project out of it.

At any rate, don't give up, just because folks didn't respond so well to another JD push, hot on the heels of the last one. We're glad to have you, here, and, we'll help, or not, as individuals.

Yours in the cause!

VOMP (John Doe) last time

VOMP (Red Dwarf) by the time I finish this post

Thanks Ray. I'll think about all that, but right now, I'm left feeling pretty flat over this.

I would like to say though, that I'm sure they musst be voting for Firefly, as I set up the instructions, which are sent out every day, to include that.

I can't see that they would skip the Top 40 part of the vote and just skip to the Nom-ing part.

If your numbers aren't showing an increase, it may be that you have a bigger drop-off in FF fan support than you realize.

I wish there were better ways to track this stuff.

Thanks for the support. Intellectually, I appreciate what you are saying, but I still FEEL like gos se.

Sometimes people feel spread too thin and adding one more thing to the list sometimes will put them off of doing anything.
This is a "fun" competition with no dire consequenses. If it ceases to be fun, then folks will walk away.

Here are the shows I try to toss a nomination now and then -

Red Dwarf

Blood Ties
Silk Stalkings
Pushing Daisies
Greg the Bunny

Upcoming Doe

You guys are really nice people. I appreciate where you are comimg from.

I'm just disappointed in the Nimsters because after building this thing from scratch (450 Noms, and adding at the most 20 each day) I was able to get this thing rolling into what it is.

So I would have expected a little more loyalty and faith in my decisions regarding strategy and all.

I tend to take my "fun" seriously. LOLOLOL

It might be interesting to drop all the effort I put in and see what happens to this runaway train I started rolling, eh?

Regardless, I appreciate all the support, and hope you guys aren't disappointed in me, for not bringing along the support I would have expected to deliver.

Still wondering where the hell the John Doe viewership is hiding. It would only take a half a dozen regulars to keep him afloat.

Maybe that's why it got cancelled, eh?

Ray - Wanted to thank you again for those quotes from DW/TW site(s). If you can send me links to those, I'd be curious to read any more comments they make, myself. Thanks.

See, I'll never understand those people who go through all that work to change the look of their yard, when Nature left alone is pretty enough (at least in any season but winter), and you can google pics of manicured lawns to your heart's content.

And, what is the point in mowing the dang lawn? How does a yard full of green sawdust look pretty? I can understand now wanting grass up to your waist, but why mow it all the time, at a short level?

Vump and a nom for John Doe. Perhaps some people have a different idea of beauty LeopardFlan. I know my father likes to mow his field regularly so it looks like a golf course. Sometimes the wild flowers grow in the short grass and it has been mentioned to me that it is breathtakingly beautiful when that happens, but in two weeks time my dad will mow those down.

Because while mowing, you have some peaceful time to completely clear your mind of everything except cutting the line. Or you can rage against the injustice of the moment & no one hears much of it because of the engine noise. Or you can avoid more onerous domestic duties by mowing the lawn & enjoying the weather. Or you can just be trying to show up the hated neighbor. Or maybe your teen aged kid doesn't have nearly enough chores to do & doesn't get enough exercise & needs to learn to appreciate a solid days work. Or ...

There are many reasons to mow. Most of them are vumping good ones.

I suppose ya'll are right, it's just that we happen to have a 3-acre lawn, and Dad insists on it being mowed EVERY WEEK, and I have to help, and it's a nusiance, when we don't even go out there anyway.
