Well, I may have embellished the headline a bit (just a teeny bit...). Here's what he actually said:
Quote:

I once pitched a show to (Fox president of entertainment) Kevin Reilly. I told him I wanted to bring back space travel on TV, like "Star Trek," but that I wanted to have sex in the space capsule and get really adult. In the show, the space capsule will have left Earth, and because of global warming, the Earth is dying. I'm the commander of this ship and I say, "We can never go back!" So Reilly is sitting there listening very patiently and finally says, "Well, we're never going to do that."

That "has-been" Baldwin seems to be doing okay for himself on "30 Rock" - which is Hi-larious, by the way. He plays a really dumb, really sleazy CEO type, and as much as I tend to despise Baldwin, he does a really damn good job of it, and looks like he's having a ton of fun.

Baldwin has gone from big screen stardom to a low rated (but funny) sitcom, his best years are far behind him. He pitched Firefly with sex in it, Firefly is a sexual show, it did'nt shy away from sex.

TRAVELER

How can FOX say they will never do it if they already did with Firefly. "I'll be in my bunk", doesn't mean Jayne was going to take a nap.

If Inara wasn't bedding somebody then Kaylee, in the engine room of all places, or Mal was. Zoe and Wash certainly contributed.

Jayne could hardly keep his pants zipped up.

You know, by that logic, the entire cast & crew of Firefly would all qualify as has-beens, having not even achieved big-screen stardom and being on a low-rated (but cancelled) TV show...

Just sayin', point of view changes things a bit.

And it's not as if Baldwin doesn't get screen work anymore... I quick scan of IMDB shows us his credits for the past 5 years:

I really do'nt give a rats butt hole what Alec Baldwin has done or is doing, he's proven over the years that he's a fowl tempered jerk, as for the cast of Firefly being "has beens" most of them have current or up coming projects, Summer in T:TSCC, Jewel in Stargate Atlantis, Adam in CHUCK and The Captian, Alan & Morena in up coming pilots. The cast of Firefly has never made ass's of them selfs the way Alec Baldwin has.

LOL! Of course Fox would say that!

I can see him being cast in a Serenity sequel. He can play serious with an undercurrent of comedy.
