Good morning my fellow browncoat brothers and sisters. A lot has been going on the last few weeks in the Z household just as I can imagine a lot has been going on for each and everyone here. I remember when I first became aware of FF and Serenity and found FFF.net on the www. I had a lot of anger and pain in me then and like so many couldn’t stop thinking about why cancellation happened to this show. Infatuation? My wife will tell you that I was ate up with it, personally, I don’t think so, but I may have been close.

Anyway things have slowed a bit and instead of seeing FF references in everything I witness I’ll admit that that number is down to 20%.

Ok, that done I did have a little thought come to me. Let’s say if Firefly was to return to television. All the same actors, in all the same characters roles. Would there be any actor or actress that you would like to see guess star in an episode or two. Mark (Badger) and Christina (Saffron) would return on occasion as their usual greedy, self absorbed characters but I’m talking about someone new. A new character.

For me I’d like to see Damian Lewis (Life/BOB) guest star as a rival Firefly captain bent on copying Serenity’s success.

Captain Jack Hardgrove (Damian Lewis) was an independence fighter back in the war just as Mal Reynolds was. Now a soldier out of work looking for a way to put money in his pocket and food in his mouth he’s heard of Serenity and the successes of Mal Reynolds and he wants in on the action. What better way than to start up a rival pirate gang and go out and plunder the riches of the verse himself. They could even share an episode where the crew of Serenity and the crew of “Tranquility” get into competition over the same loot.
I think it would make for a very interesting storyline.

My question to you is, are there any television shows that you are currently watching that you would have loved seeing an actor or two guest appear on a future episode of FF? If you want post it up. I’d really enjoy seeing what ideas (and actors) pop up. To make it fun give some background on the character too.

Btw I envision the pilot of Tranquility being the tv star Hurley from LOST on ABC.

I'm not sure about new characters, but ones I would have liked to see more of were:

The captain and crew of the ship that "rescues" Mal in "Out of Gas" There could have been a great rivary there. And revenge, of course.

The lord from Shindig (the one that was Mal's second in the duel and eventual client).

Hmmmmmm . . . . How about . . . . Sam Rockwell as practically anything. He can play evil and funny equally well.

Michael J. Fox as a famous doctor who faked his death in order to escape Alliance control. They find him on a backwater moon caring for those he felt the Alliance was preventing him from helping in the past. But are his treatments unethical?

Jeanine Garafolo as YoSafBrige's sister and assistant to the Governor of Persephone. Claims to come fromt the social elite of the planet. Comes to Serenity to ask Mal for his help in finding her wayward and very confused sister. Mal is intrigued because she's an actual link to YoSafBrige's true identity. Or is she?

Zoe: "Get it running again."
Mal: "Yeah"
Zoe: "So not running now"
Mal: "Not so much"

I'd take Paul Gross and Sam Rockwell in any role.
Lee Majors as a Browncoat supporter who laid low while running an underground railroad type deal during the war.
Steve Buscemi as a crazy Patience-type ruler.
Amy Adams as a Registered Companion.
Michelle Trachtenburg as a fellow student of River's at the Institute - is she now working for the Institute, or is she another escapee?
