Got another (thought-provoking?) question for you guys.

In it's first season, "The X-Files" was in mortal danger of suffering the same fate as that of Firefly. A letter-writing campaign and pressure from fans managed to save the show. "The X-Files" went on to run for 9 years, garner many awards and become one of Fox's most well-known and popular shows.

What do you think that "X-Files" would be remembered for today if it HAD gotten cancelled way back when? Do you think that it would have become another Star Trek, or another Firefly? Would it even be remembered at all?

I was thinking the same thing last night. Firefly was destined to be the nest Star Trek or X-files.
Look at what has happened to the X-Files creator's other two shows (That I know of) on fox, Harsh Realm and The Lone Gunmen. Both were canceled after just a handful of episodes, and both were good! In fact on the X-Files they took a stab at the Fox network. A man Agent Mulder was questioning said he was watching some show on Fox, he forgot the name but it was good. The show was Harsh Realm.

America loves a winner!

Just a casual observation, but it seems to me that what is going on @ Fox is a not isolated. Idiot ,a.k.a., 'Reality' TV is sweeping the networks and smothering any sort of quality programing like *Kudzu has swept the South. Had X-Files been introduced in such an enviroment as we have currently, we'd never seen any of the long sought after questions answered......oh, wait...there weren't much in the way of answers after 9 yrs.... ANYWAY, my point is that X-Files would have likely suffered a similar fate as our Firefly did.

* For those who don't know,Kudzu is a leafy, ivy like vine which covers pretty much everything down here in the S.E. USA. Kudzu can grow up to a foot a day, and will cover anything from trees, power lines, barns , parked cars and an occasional slow child or lazy hound dog.

Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!

That's AWESOME! A foot a day! Damn...how thick is it? Does it really cover lazy dogs...because that would be pretty hilarious.

eh-hem..anyways..

Kudzu is eee-vil, like the froo-it of the dev-il.

Much like reality TV.

Yeah, it is, but in the Metro Atlanta areas (at least in cobb county) they are going to great measures to destroy this plague.............

Sorry, I was typing too slow, and some Kudzu has covered my house... Send help, SEND A DAMN GARDENER!

Sorry, but I tend to be an IDIOT!
