LWAVES

I think this was mentioned in the other thread but it's waaaayyyy to long to go through again but tonight I am going to rewatch 'A Boy And His Dog' with a young Don Johnson. Saw it on TV late one night many many years ago as part of a film season called Moviedrome. I remember liking it so it'll be interesting to see how it holds up.
I also have Repo Man (Emilio Estevez and Harry Dean Stanton) to watch but that's another night.

GWEK

I'm going to kick it really old school and mention "Hudson's Bay," from 1941:

"Highly fictionalized early history of Canada. Trapper/explorer Radisson imagines an empire around Hudson's Bay. He befriends the Indians, fights the French, and convinces King Charles II to sponsor an expedition of conquest."

My dad sought this movie for many, many years, until my mother was able to track down a bootleg copy.

Although the summary might sound a little closer to a historical epic like "Dances with Wolves" or "Braveheart," it's actually a swashbuckling romp more akin to "Robin Hood" and the pirate movies of the day.

Not to get on the re-make bandwagon infecting Hollywood these days, but I'd really love to see this little known gem remade and given the action-adventure treatment of "The Mummy" or "Pirates of the Caribbean" (the first one in both cases...).
